If any one has transparency paper, i would love to play with the idea of overlaying symbols to make english letters... The crescent moon could be part of a D or k or c ..lots of straight lines.. Etc

AnotherDoth, You are welcome... I do understand, I also appreciate you taking a nice stance on it, I have had to block several from being able to email me due to the real negative nature of their attacks. Mike is a friend and I will not let those attacks be passed on to him either.

AnotherDoth, By the way, Mike has been monitoring our progress or lack of :-/ and he is going to put out a press release in the next few days explaining why he is doing this and it is for us that want to solve it for the fun of it. The press release will also include the first clue he provided me and a link to my site www.Trovers4Ever.com as where all clues will post first. I hope that helps in the trust of the validity of the clues.

Second, In my opinion, I think we have to look at it as a grouping of the symbols simply due to the combine and form anew remark. I think as someone has said the letters will be very rough looking , rather like the HEST letters where written in the book, if you recall they where rough.

I have never done this, but I think I will go to the book and remove all of the HEST letters and see how many we have in the book and what they look like in a row.

Steve I do have transparency paper and have tried to over lay the symbols, my dilemma is it must be done in a way that is consistent throughout the whole string for it to be a solve that is feasible and I have not been able to make anything work that is consistent in its application.

Mark, if you email the picture you where trying to post, I can post it for you, if you want us to see it.

When the press release hits, I will have it posted in its entirety as well.

    Take care,

Hello all, glad to see new clues being released. Hopefully we can crack this mystery once and for all. As pertaining to the clue, i have to agree with Mark and lordrhast with the symbols being grouped together. As in which way to group them and what they will mean, currently the dust on the book is being removed to figure this out.

The Code reads "THE ALCHEMIST DAR". But I can't exactly get the method worked out just yet. Look at the shaded symbols as dividers. Each line has 3, 9, and 3 shaded symbols, respectively (same numbers as THE ALCHEMIST DAR has letters). If you divide the lines up where the shaded symbols are, the letters that appear more than once (T, H, E, and A) are remarkably similar.

Gonna look at it a little more tonight, I'll try going into chat.

Mark I couldn't agree more I have a little different spin on it though and I may just be seeing this because you mentioned it.

Let me know what you think I still can't figure the A out though

I like the idea that the Filled in symbols are letter breaks. Just as a thought though, instead of it spelling "The Alchemist Dar", it actually spells Michael Stadther. Same letters, just different order. Maybe this is a signature line that he is going to put at the end of each of his clues.

The Press Release would be a nice confirmation of the authenticirty of the new clue.

I hope the press release also answers the question as to if the hunt is on for the rings, or just for intellectual curiosity. I will probably work on it either way. It just seems unfair to be in limbo on the status.

P.S. Thanks for saying I took a nice stance. Actually, I've been a little mean spirited (see my sarcastic post about carrier pigeons). I just want the record straight about my evil alignment. Dar and I are both about as evil as Prof. Heinz Doofensmhirtz. "Give yourself to the Dark Side. It is the only way you can save your friends. " D.Vader

    Digi,

    Thanks for the visual....
I like the artwork, It makes sense that you are only using the suns and moons together to form the symbols that represent the letters.

Ok from what Mark posted earlier this is what I see.

The open circles indicate the strokes in each character and the other surrounding symbols indicate the style of the stroke. For example in line one there are 2 open circles before the filled symbol and an = sign indicating a 2 stroke letter that contains only lines. T

Another good example of this is the letter D in Dar 2 open circles an one line stroke and one half moon indicating a curved stroke.

There are some errors in the code as mentioned above that just don't fit, but as you all know Mike likes to keep us on our toes.

    What does everyone think?
