# Thread: Create a ring solved

1. ## Create a ring solved

To create a ring on pages 17-19 of the book of spells, you must first reflect all 3 pages. To read the code, the symbols must be rearranged to form letters (or numbers).

For example, and O would be 2 moons next to eachother.

There are only 3 types of symbols: Lines (rectangles are the same thing), circles (regardless of size) and crescents (regardless of size).

Here is the Key from what I have deciphered so far:
A: 3 lines, 3 circles
B: 1 line, 2 circles, 2 crescents
C: 1 crescent, 2 circles
D: 1 line, 1 crescent, 2 circles
E: 4 lines, 5 circles
F: 3 lines, 4 circles
G: 2 lines, 1 crescent, 4 circles
H: 3 lines, 4 circles
I: 1 line, 2 circles
J:
K: 3 lines, 4 circles
L: 2 lines, 3 circles
M: 4 lines, 5 circles
N: 3 lines, 4 circles
O: 2 crescents
P: 1 line, 1 crescent, 2 circles,
Q:
R: 2 lines, 1 crescent, 3 circles
S: 2 crescents, 2 circles
T: 2 lines, 3 circles
U: 2 lines, 1 crescent, 3 circles
V: 2 lines, 3 circles
W: 4 lines, 5 circles
X: 2 lines, 4 circles
Y: 3 lines, 3 circles
Z: 3 lines, 4 circles

To help distinguish between letters, each letter MUST end with a filled symbol. Although, there are more filled symbols tossed in there, which doesn't help.

There are 100 lines of text hidden in the code, they each are comprised of either 1 or 2 lines of code. Here's what I've gotten so far. Please add to this so we can complete the list of 100. I may have made errors, so if you think something should read something slightly different, point it out.

I don't wanna do all this decoding by myself, it's taken me hours just to get what i have so far. Please add to this list!!

My theory is that 17-19 are teaching you how to read the code, to solve the more complicated page 16 code.

2. I forgot to mention, there are also numbers in this code. I don't have a complete key for it yet but:

1: 1 line, 2 circles
2: 2 lines, 3 circles, 1 crescent
3: 2 crescents, 3 circles
8: 4 crescents

3. U da man!

Mark13,

This is incredible work! Keep it up!

Could you explain what line you start on? I can't replicate your "RING ONE...".

Thanks,

5. ## Another Way to Reference the Alphabet

I think listing your alphabet like this will help me go through the code easier. Thanks Mark!

0 line, 1 crescent, 2 circles - C
0 line, 2 crescents, 0 circles - O, Zero
0 line, 2 crescents, 2 circles - S
0 line, 2 crescents, 3 circles - 3
0 line, 4 crescents, 0 circles - 8
1 line, 0 crescents, 2 circles - I, 1
1 line, 1 crescent, 2 circles - D, P
1 line, 2 crescents, 2 circles - B
2 lines, 0 crescents, 3 circles - L, T, V
2 lines, 0 crescents, 4 circles - X
2 lines, 1 crescent, 2 circles - U
2 lines, 1 crescent, 3 circles - R, 2
2 lines, 1 crescent, 4 circles - G
3 lines, 0 crescents, 3 circles - A, Y
3 lines, 0 crescents, 4 circles - F, H, K, N, Z
4 lines, 0 crescents, 5 circles - E, M, W

Still Undetermined: J, Q, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9

Top line of page 17 but you have to mirror the page, so you would start on the right hand side and work to the left if you didn't mirror it. Or you could turn the book upside down and start from the bottom.

Thanks Vandriver that makes solving a bit easier.

7. Mark13

I make the line 2 equal LIKE A NEW BAND TWO

8. I agree with LIKE A NEW BAND TWO.

It might be easier to work backwards on each line knowing the rules that each letter/number ends with a shaded symbol and that there can be no more than 4 lines, 4 crescents, or 5 circles per letter/number.

I was working backwards on the second line and got BAND TWO, thinking it was ____B AND TWO.

9. I would also speculate that J = 1 line, 1 crescent, 2 circles and Q = 1 line, 2 crescents, 2 circles???

Mark,

I wasn't a believer at first, and some of the phrases are really funky, but I think you nailed it.

For the Summon a ring page, did you apply the split using the dots? Early on, someone discovered that if you overlaid the dots over the code block, it aligned over small moons. If you removed those moons and swapped the left and right sides of the blocks, all of the lines would line up perfectly. That may be why you are still having challenges with that.
