Thanks, pianoman. I don't think I would have thought of that. A bit of local knowledge?

I think there might be some local knowledge needed too for Foxtrot Tango (Port Mojada). I'm glad I'm not doing these all by myself.

    New puzzles look interesting too.

Nooooooooooo, don't drop out. I think we just need to come up with some rules that we can all agree to live with.

I'd suggest that if you are going to be off-line or away from the computer, but plan to be investing time on a puzzle, post something in the notes section.

okay sslug, i like that a lot. I printed the thing out, worked on it during my lunch break, spent another hour on it at home, and then turned on my laptop....and thought, boo hiss.

i will either be in the wings not doing anything, when i am at work, or i will do as sslug suggests in the notes to "stake my claim".

After looking at the first round of puzzles I remembered why I had started this thing some time ago and gave up on it... way too many crossword-like puzzles for me. Try to solve cryptic clues in a language that is not your mother tongue (it is similar to knocka's problems with all the US culture hidden in the puzzles)... so I will just say I am happy I got "mayday" after one of you crossword-experts had had a look at it.

Anyway, great job so far ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Nobodies!

I am dropping out. I can't afford the time spent on this one. Unfortunately.

I spent like 12 hours on this thing yesterday--and barely got away from my computer the whole time except to use the restroom and drive home.

Sorry guys...I'm just too busy for it.

Sorry folks, this one was my fault. I thought from the way we were doing these that the answer wasn't the point--only the journey to find it. So I researched it, and found it was one of those that required special knowledge of something---in looking it up, I ran across most of the solution on another forum. They had done a lot of the work, and had some of the solution, but didn't know what it meant--but I did. I worked the puzzle from what the other forum people had posted, and 'solved' the puzzle, thinking it wouldn't hurt anyone who worked on the actual puzzle, but it would also open up some new puzzles for others to work on. That was a bad move on my part, apparently. I had worked on Hokey Pokey and Dance Marathon to have those puzzles solved by others when I was working on them and it didn't bother me much--I didn't think it would be a bad thing to simply solve it and open up new puzzles and not post any notes except the one I posted, so whoever was working on it wouldn't have it spoiled.

I apologize if it bothered you, or others--and that's another reason I'm just gonna not do this one. I don't think a team concept works very well--because there is this potential for jumping the gun--and spoiling it for others.

I'm gonna back out, and leave you all to it.

Sorry, Pianoman--no ill feelings intended here.

No worries Shecrab. I agree this one is time-consuming. That Boxtop puzzle in general was time-consuming. I don't know the best solution for it, but you're right that the group effort on one puzzle for one solution seems a bit strange. Is the goal to open them all up as quickly as we can? Or the puzzle solving is the fun part...I guess I found myself wanting to be helpful in unlocking something, and that "goal" can be done by anyone.

I realized I was just cranky yesterday in general, so if you want to continue, it is fine with me. You are way better at the crossword/word puzzle games than I would be...
