Default New Hunt in a Movie

Has anyone else seen the Green Eyed Monster movie hunt? It's an armchair hunt on DVD, which is a pretty clever twist. The movie is a low budget horror movie, and in it are clues to the location of three cash prizes. Best of all you don't have to leave home. I have the DVD and have watched it once. While there are things that are clearly clues, it is hard to know where to begin... but I guess that is part of what made ATT so interesting.

Props to HitContests.com where I first read about this.

I guess I'm a sucker for this stuff... Just ordered the dvd. It's only 9.98 for a short period of time. Will post more once I've watched it.

    Default ordered this today

sounds interesting, a throwback to the Golden Horse contest - clues inside of a movie. They seem to be making a real effort to promote this via their tour, and the prize money is rather realistic for a change. I think the days of a start-up offering a mega-prize are done, companies like Coke and McDonalds do non-skill sweepstakes, and there just aren't enough people with the needed curiosity to justify creating a treasure hunt. I thought ATT was the last success, but now i hear that the prizes were grossly overstated - what did the Spider end up bringing at auction?

    Default $500 teaser video contest

They've launched a short teaser video with a puzzle for a $500 prize - no purchase necessary. There are some numbers at the end, which I alpha-substituted into a workable answer. We'll see if it is really an answer or just a red herring. I need to watch the video part closer and see if there are more clues.

The movie is full of things that could be numbers, but I'm not having much success yet with converting them to anything useful. Still, I haven't had that much time to spend on it.

I totally agree about the prize values. I'd much rather have $5k in cash than a ring valued at $1 million. You'd have to pay about $300k in taxes on that ring, and you'd be lucky to find a buyer if you wanted to sell it. That said, I think I did notice in the fine print of the rules in Alchemist Dar that you could take a smaller cash prize instead.

I'd be very happy to have a few dozen of these hunts with small $5k to $25k prizes than just one or two big ones... The prize is just icing, and odds are against you on most of these anyway... the fun is in the puzzles and the entertainment value of the book or movie that they are in.

    Default $500 puzzle expiring

I think tomorrow is the deadline, if anyone wants to brainstorm this evening in a last ditch effort let me know. The video is on YouTube, is only a couple minutes long ; he's given some hints but I'm still unclear how to apply his hints. He says it's a Polybius square, and there are either 25 or 26 brief scenes shown.

Bit slow catching up, but it seems interesting and even if I can't get the clues my gf and I love horror movies, so I ordered the dvd and will give it a try!

Default not really a horror movie

to be honest I haven't watched it to the end, but what I have seen
    would qualify more as a thriller. Lots of violence at the beginning ;
a couple supernatural shots (1 second each) are the only
things so far that were an attempt to scare you. Maybe the
end will bring more of that. There is no 'monster' , i think
    the title refers to Greed.
