    Default Night roaming Forest Creatures.

In the Prologue, it says the Dark Dust fell every night crystallizing the Forest...(Pg 15) One by one they (the creatures) had been touched by the dark dust and crystallized and then mysteriously, they vanished. Then we go to Chapter 9 where Zac is working on Ana's jewlery box. Ana and Pook are asleep and its "close to midnight." Where I live, at midnight, its dark unless you have a full moon? And its in the dark that the dust falls.

As Zac is hunched over the box, planing the wood, (Pg 49)
the embassy of (live) Forest Creatures, led by Ladybug, arrive and perch on a branch in the workshop. (Pg 51) "Zac is unaware of the commotion outside his window.." It was almost midnight. He blews out the lamps and goes to bed and joins Ana and Pook under the covers.

Now I pose a question: how is it the Forest Creatures are out flying around in the dark, visiting Zac at midnight, and the dark dust doesn't affect to them? Jeeze O Pete, firefly even flashes a big message outside, in the window with the night sky as a background?

On page 20/21, there is a crescent moon. Its not really a quarter of a whole moon, because we can only see one half of the moon at any given time, the back side is dark. So we are not seeing a quarter of the whole moon, only a quarter of one half. I think someone in another post mentioned the waning and waxing of the moon. Again these phases are of only 1/2 of the moon. Therefore, its not half and its not whole. Rusful can't come out during a full moon (which is actually 1/2 of the moon.)

(Bear with me)...now we move to The Dream (page 84) which is actually part of Chapter 17, and not a separate chapter itself. On page 85, Zac and Pook are out and its well past midnight and it is "very dark" he and Pook are deep into the Forest. We're still in reality. Then, he falls asleep under the tree, and during the dream, (page 87),
gone are the trees and the night sky. The sky shines as bright as day. (It doesn't say it IS day. Is it really a full moon?) and he looks at the Forest in a new way and can see things he never saw before. He knows he will find the jewels before noon tomorrow. Why noon tomorrow, will the full moon be changing then? Then on Page 88, Chapter 18, we have a high noon, yet the approachig storm causes everything to become dark. Now we have dark at noon and light at midnight?

In all the pictures, Rusful is out during the quarter moons. None of the pictures depict a full moon. Is Rusful afraid of all light, not just daylight? Moonlike, moonlike. By the end of Zac's dream's I'm very puzzled. I think a Pickenstrooter turned back the clocks!

    Default Gibbous Moon

One more thing...when the moon is not quite full and not half, it is called Gibbous...(which means humped)...reminds me of Rusful rubbing his bumpy round gourd-head like a dubious grocer...??? Gibbous/dubious?
    Coincidence?
