Is this the end of torment? How can he give us a puzzle without letting us solve it?

Did we get so close he became afraid of someone solving his masterpiece?

Don't be silly. He wants people to solve things - the right way. As in, not by hacking in to people's accounts.

If anyone *needs* anything in search for a solve; please contact me for any of the image files as I've saved everything to this computer. Though it's my Birthday tomorrow I'm working on sorting my accommodation still; in the coming month I'll be moving out into the halls of residence of my University so I'll have a lot more free space and time during this period. Very excited for getting back into this as I've drawn so many interlinking potential hints to how this "Zodiac" cipher of sorts is meant to be solved. Until then, I hope you're still lurking Gecko...I've been waiting.

Thought I'd be back here a lot sooner but it took longer than expected to settle into my new flat; got everything sorted now but I still need to retrieve my work on Torment from home...I'm actually surprised that interest in this trail has been so low key since leaving. Hopefully I'll be able to get my head back into this without too many problems, but problems seem to create more problems with a trail of this magnitude and confusion.

What I've been wondering though while I've been inactive is whether or not this trail is ever going to become active again; after the last disappearance it seems unlikely, but I'm left with a little hope. Until I get my work on this again I'll keep updated just in case something short of a miracle occurs.

Hi Cakehead! Seems you're the only one remaining posting here

Well, I wanted to comment a curiosity. From time to time I like googling the web searching for any news of Torment/Grngecko, on the wayback machine I found the old Torment page 'combosys' (where there was a complicated crypto solver Code Cipher Systems ), and I thought of copying "sanborn's covert ops" from there and google it. I found this website where greengecko copied the crypto solver from: John's Javascript Secret-Code Systems

Well, as I said just a curiosity

He's not quite the only one lurking about.

My main problem, at the moment - and I'll probably have to create a new thread for this in the forum somewhere - is that I want to bring Torment, in a form, to my college campus... with some help from the student activities board, which is backing me... I'm wondering what sort of devious puzzles would be possible in person instead of online. I might outright copy some of them from torment, as best I can remember: I really, really wish that the old site was up to reference, or an archive could be obtained.

Hi Diorama; it's great to be back!! I've finally finished my first semester of university which means that most of my theory modules are completed, giving me much more free time to play around with theories on these trails...I went back home to get my work on Torment over Christmas but apparently my file with all my work compiled got thrown away! I'm currently in the process of compiling a new one, but I'm completely uncertain on how long that will take...

Thanks for providing a link to the original tool though; already bookmarked for future use...Found it useful previously and I'm sure I will in the future. In reference to Tanshin; why would you even copy a puzzle trail which hasn't even completely been solved yet? Not to sound up front, but its also under copyright by Gecko. I'm sure Gecko still checks here every now and again, and I hope he shows his presence at some point, but I wouldn't want someone else copying my work.

Also, just to note, I've been checking statistics for http://grngecko.com unsure of if the domain is still owned by Gecko, but the site was last updated a couple of days ago...If it is under Gecko's control still, I hope you're still out there...

    Hi all,

I downloaded the ZIP file of the site but it doesn't work as a functioning puzzle (obviously), does anyone know anywhere else hosting it? Or a way of fixing this up? I'd love to do it again just for the nostalgia, I miss Torment

PS. Cakehead, can you send me a ZIP with the images? Thanks!
