Default What kind of cipher would this be?

Hey all Long time no see, no?

I was recently (read: today) working on a series of ciphers (at least, described as such... lol!), and the one I am working on now has 5 groups of letters - first and second groups had 5 letters each, and 3rd-5th had 10 letters each.

Does this arrangement spark anyone's recognition buttons? Because I have tried several types of cipher, with no luck (yet). It'd be nice if I could narrow down my search, though.

The letters look like any cryptogram-ish cipher. The only feature I am asking about is the 5-5-10-10-10 setup. Anyone?

    No, that doesn't help much

I am still stuck on this one, too.

This series of ciphers requests, specifically, that we NOT post them on forums or elsewhere, so I cannot post it here to see if any of you big-brains can crack it However, if anyone would like to PM me, if interested, I can send you the cipher privately. THAT is allowed... lol!

    Facebook-only puzzles/hunts? Bah!

Lol! Looks like you are working on it, too :P

I'm pretty surprised you recognized what puzzles I was talking about just from the mention of the letter scheme... impressed, in fact

Don't suppose YOU happen to know what kind of cipher the second one is? I am usually pretty deucedly fast at these, but this one has me stumped, for no particular reason. It LOOKS simple enough, but it will not crack, whatever I try...

Bacon is just a's and b's, or capitals and lowercases, or some other 2-type system, right? It doesn't fit :P Thanks for the suggestions, though!

Hi all, don't know if you know about this place: The Crypto Forum
    Crypto

but Elijah posts there as well, and there is an area where members can post challenges and he has posted several. The thing that might be helpful is some have been cracked (no prize for these) and the method explained by those that work them. Might be worth looking at for insight into his challenge on FB.

Here is a general link to challenges (some are his)
    Challenges

And one in particular : Elijah 3 challenge SOLVED

This forum is a good resource of information for hard core ciphering. There are some tutorials there and I have been learning Python programming for solving due to this site.

Check it out if you are interested in Elijah's challenge - might help?.
