Yep, thinkin' about it. Having other computer issues here today, so not sure when I'll get to look at your puzzle again.

The Kryptonomicon teaser is still unsolved. The 500 Twollars are still up for grabs.

    I read it as:

AN ANCIENT CIPHER YOU HAVE FOUND. DID YOU FIND THE KEYS? IF YOU TOIL LONG, AN EASIER TALE YOU WILL FIND.

I think Rusty needs a Keyword that this little ditty reveals.

I can duplicate this with one exception. The second to last word is MUST rather than WILL.

But what to do with the extra 20 letters?
I caught you a delicious bass.

In true CIA fashion, I can neither confirm nor deny any posts made here. I have stated, and restated, the rules. The 500 Twollars is still up for grabs.

I may post an official hint, although I do not think it is required, as long as people are still actively working this puzzle. But, in case it is, I will. I want to be fair, so I am announcing it ahead of time. If I release and official clue, it will be Sunday morning between 7am and 9am Eastern time.

The extra 20 letters are 4 words, maybe those are the keys that Rusty is talking about.

Since there were 10 at the beginning and 10 at the end. I have tried to find a way to go from a viral spine to a toil kicker. No luck so far.

My puzzle has inspired you to drink. Excellent. I think it may help, actually.
