# Thread: Black and White

1. ## Black and White

D (1,5); E (9); G (1,5); H (2);
I (7,9); L (9); M (4,6); O (3, 8, ;
P (3); R (2,5); S (1,5); V (5, 7, 9);
W (4, 6, 7); X (3); Y (3); Z (1, 3, 4, 6, .

Send me the answer I expect.
Feel free to post creative answers.

2. Black and white --> Chess or checkers board
Black and white --> on and off --> binary or morse

The letters in the ciphertext are in a 4x4.

Moving inside that 4x4 using the numbers after the letters as coords hasn't given me anything yet, but maybe I am not moving in the right direction or maybe there is more more step after pulling letters. Or maybe we dont have to pull letters but look at the color of the square instead.

Anyone else working on this one?

3. i'm not working on it, because i didn't see it until you posted.

will try to look at it tonight if i'm not still sick

4. I'm sure you'll sort it out, gabi.

5. My quick observations:

Letters are in alphabetical order
Numbers behind each letter are in numerical order (note the double 8 on O, however)

6. Alphabetical order and numerical order - both convenient orders, but are they the right orders?

maybe what I am doing wrong is trying to use a 4x4. It could be a 5x5 and the starting point for those "coords" would be the letters in a regular 5x5 and not in the 4x4 that knocka has given us.

There is no j and no q, that means that either one of the two could be missing from a 5x5. That only means trying everything twice, no big deal LOL
