hi im a metal detectorist, as well as an armchair treasure hunter.
and on the Tnet forum, someone found a coded combo lock, at least
thats what it looks like, and they want to open it, so could you help
me out, looks like playfair, no go for me yet
your challenge, no prize, other than you opened the lock

after more research, ive found that this lock is prob not a novelty item,
so i think maybe? IM WRONG
the lock that akl439, has is prob a very old lock
not a brain teaser, novelty item, that i thought it was
have not found away to open it yet, still working on that

the only thing i found out about it is........and underlined in red TRICK BOXES? see in jpeg
TRICK BOXES? that makes me still. wonder about a code though. for a key word

...have you tired attaching a stethoscope to the device, and 'listening' carefully to the tumblers?

Otherwise you'd literally have to check EVERY letter combination. There's no reason to believe it will be a 'word', solution.
