    Default Verse #10

    In the shadow
    Of the grey giant
    Find the arm that
    Extends over the slender path
    In summer
You'll often hear a whirring sound
    Cars abound
    Although the sign
    Nearby
    Speaks of Indies native
    The natives still speak
Of him of Hard word in 3 Vols.
Take twice as many east steps as the hour
    Or more
From the middle of one branch
    Of the v
    Look down
    And see simple roots
    In rhapsodic man's soil
    Or gaze north
    Toward the isle of B.

Default verse 10 and pic 11

hello, my name is adoks53 and since theres been no activity on this verse, i thought i'd give it a shot. i beleive the site to be edison state park, new jersey, and heres why... i linked the stone peridot with the folleti of italy (the litany and the passage to the new world) then to the powhatan tribespeople (the vanishing) which meant the jewels were in n.j. then in the verse, i recognized the long arm extending over the narrow path ((stylus devil pg 90). the copy led me to menlo park. there are 3 monuments in the park, the first a memorila stone at the intersection of christie st (the first street with electric lights) which is 5 blocks long, and route 27. this forms a "V" . the other two are the museum and the memorial tower which just happens to be 2 1/2 blocks down from the intersection on a 5 block street. the tower is on a circular walkaround which to me looks very familiar. anyway, taking twice as many steps as the hour (august = 8 from the pic) or more east takes you to a circular grouping of trees, presumably with simple roots. hope this is right, and the input sheds some light on how i at least came up with this. oh yes, i spoke to byron's widow on the phone monday, and she is very sorry she can't help us, but he never shared "the secret" with her either!

I encourage you to fully explore your ideas.

Everything is possible, until the casques are unearthed.

I hope that no one outside of the actual
puzzle solvers are bothered by ideas and theories
    and what ifs.

Good Luck and would reccommend checking out

    quest4treasure.

thanks for the words tron, but i'm not actually going to go to the site. just a mental exercise from a new pair of eyes to maybe inspire someone else. as a puzzler who works basically on his own, i realized after carefully reading and mapping things out, you can follow the progress of the different nations of fair people from the old world to the new, find where they migrated, intermingled with the native folk and ultimately vanished, which gives a pretty good idea of which jewel belongs in what local. by the way, the town of iselin, also known as "little india" (indies native) is a couple miles up rt. 27. if'n you have access to google earth, plug in the christie st address in edison, and see for yourself. just havin fun...adoks53

Welcome to The Secret, adoks53. There has been much activity on this verse, but not at tweleve. I urge you to follow Trohn's suggestion and check out the Quest4Treasure forums, which go back several years:

    http://www.quest4treasure.co.uk/foru...php?board=32.0

I would caution you against contacting Byron's wife. Contacting the author's grieving family with vague ideas about a treasure site may be perceived as harrassment, and may sabotage the hunt for all of us who still pursue the 10 remaining casques. It would be a good idea to respect the family's privacy until and unless there is a very good reason to contact them (for instance, digging up another casque). But even then, it would be wise to first consult with the Q4T folks, at least a couple of whom know her personally.
"...it may well be doubted whether human ingenuity can construct an enigma of the kind which human ingenuity may not, by proper application, resolve."

As a follow up to the past thoughts,
I grew up in the town next to Edison and
Iselin and my parents still reside there.

I did live there in 1982, before the influx
    of the Indian community there.

I can speak with all due confidence and all
the experience that I have gained in my life-
no casque resides in New Jersey.

Take it from the source - waste your time or not.

i still like v-10 w/ pic 11. heres why..... go to menloparkmuseum.com an unfinished screen comes up, but go to the 4th bullited item about the tablet and click on it. at the bottom of the page, click on larger pic of the tablet...gives location as christie st. and rt 27..... now go back to bottom of previous page and click on map at the very bottom... see the "V" ? ....now switch the image to satellite and zoom in on the tower just to the lower right of the marker. fully zoomed in on this, note the clump of trees directly east of the tower... simple roots, right? i wasn't kidding... match the words up with the pic... strange coincidence, or something more?! ... just having fun!

Interesting... I also noticed that Rt 27 is Lincoln Highway. here is a link to Lincoln in v6 (Edwin and Edwina - see my post on v6 on q4t forum), a Lincoln statue link in the first found cache, and Lincoln Highway here. Anyone tried to link Lincoln in to other pics or verses???

i've posted this on Q4T but thought I'd put it here as well. Regarding rhapsodic man's soil... Pope John Paul II started a theatre co. in Poland during the Nazi occupation called The Rhapsodic Theatre. Also the middle of one branch of the v could be referring to one of the three branches of the Vatican (the V). Maybe this will spark something. Lafitte

keep in mind that this book was written in 1982, and trees seen now might not have been then
