Nothing has yet been proven, Leo has proposed a solution but I dont think it has been factually verified

Levitov proposed a pronouciation for the characters of the Voynich MS which leads to a largely pronounceable text, which he claims is in a creole mainly based on Flemish. His translation of this text deals with a Cathar cult of Isis followers, and rites related to Euthanasia. He published his results in a monograph . The linguistic aspect has been contested by Jacques Guy and the differences with the known practices of the Cathars in S.France have been analysed by Dennis Stallings.
and from a different site showing D. Stallings disputes to the claim.
However, genuine historical information shows that Catharism was a variant form of Christianity, and that the endura, a terminal fast at the end of life, was a very late practice in Catharism that does not resemble Levitov's account. This historical evidence contradicts Levitov's claim of decipherment of the Voynich Manuscript.

However this looks like it might be a nice book.

I can only find it in France.

Mark, is that book a proposed solution or just a copy of the manuscript in book form with some notes? Very interesting...

As far as I know there is no solution.

Levitov tried but has be denounced by most people.

The book as far as I know wrom the VMS mailing list is high quality images.

Although I believe that some of them towards the rear of the manuscript are shrunk to fit the pages.

Thanks, I was translating all that French and wanted to make sure I was in the right direction and not getting lost in translation .

On a side note, how deeply have you studied this thing?

I've just checked the VMS Mailing List archive and my first post seems to be about 1995.

I've watched people study it very deeply, have several interesting books but never tried to analyse it myself.

There are people much better than me at that sort of thing on the list and they have made little progres sin that time.

When you look at some of the pages, which I have done a lot of they look like you should just be able to read them.

My big interest was the possible connection to John Dee and his treasure map.

So in the main I have lurked on the mailing list.

However I did attend one of their meetings in the midlands many years ago, a thoughly nice group of people.
