    Default Clue #3 - CUTQ

I've been revisiting Clue #3, and I think I've found a hint that supports ADAMAV's observation to cut the last 3 columns and add them at the beginning.

In previous posts (with the help of The Digitizer), the flower coordinates were used to draw a line path on a grid. This path created a star, and took pains to point out four letters, CUTQ, which were spread along an arc (more or less).

After more review, I believe that CUTQ means to 'Cut queue' or rather 'Cut the line'. Fleshing out the entire circle, the letter 'Q' correlates to L8 or vertical line 8. Consequently the hint refers to cutting the vertical line 8, which is what a person would have to do to move the three columns to the beginning. Notice that when my circle is cut at L8, the C8, C9 and C10 (columns 8, 9, and 10) get attached to the other columns.

I was just looking at Adamav's solution again.

    http://img253.imageshack.us/my.php?i...e3solve9lu.png

You could actually just wrap the grid around a tube and tape column 1 and column 10 together - then slide the letters up or down into place.

I don't have time to play with this anymore today, but this is how many you must move each column to get them into the right place:

    Col 1 - up 0 or down 0
    Col 2 - up 1 or down 9
    Col 3 - up 2 or down 8
    Col 4 - up 9 or down 1
    Col 5 - up 5 or down 5
    Col 6 - up 1 or down 9
    Col 7 - up 8 or down 2
    Col 8 - up 5 or down 5
    Col 9 - up 8 or down 2
    Col 10 - up 2 or down 8

The columns could also be numbered 0 - 9. The flowers could tell how many to slide up or down. Does the taller flower indicate column and the shorter indicate row, or might it indicate whether to move the column up or down? Does the stem with more leaves indicate which is the row or column? So many questions, so little time...
Whatever I feel like I wanna do. Gosh!

    Hi Sue,

    Thanks for the reply.

Based on looking at Clue #3 for an awfully long time, I'm concluding that Adamav's ring is the penultimate step in solving this puzzle. Consequently I'm not worried so much about dialing the columns up and down. I think the final step is to anagram the 34 letters within the ring (as Adamav tried) similar to what appears to have been done with Clue 5. I suspect the final message will be an announcement for the Ana and Rusful tokens. Here's some things I've tried:

G! MY PAIRHUNT: ANA AND RUSFUL TOKENS EXIST

HUNTGRY? ANA AND RUSFUL TOKEN MAPS EXIST

MRU HINT: ANA AND RUSFUL TOKENS PAGE SIXTY

MRI HUNT: ANA AND RUSFUL TOKENS PAGE SIXTY

Just playing around, but I think it's there.

The two-year anniversay is coming up on June 1st for this clue.

    - Mark

I've created a webpage showing my thinking on ATT Clue #3, which is located here:

    www.geocities.com/kellylightning/ATT_Clue3

There are a couple of animations, so look for those.

I strongly suspect that the letters inside the ring of color words/stem should be anagrammed for a final solution. These 34 letters are:

    E A T M O N N N K P S I T H R I S S X D U E A N U L R G T F A Y A U

I'm putting forth a challenge to anagram potential solutions from these letters and to post here or submit them to ATT by June 1st (the anniversary of the clue). I will collect the anagrams submitted here and forward to ATT. If one of these anagrams is the correct solution, I will award 500 twollars to the person submitting it.

    Good Luck!

Not looking at your solution or your method or even ATT itself,
but taking your post as an all-inclusive question,
I would narrow it down to:

    FIND THE XTRA TOKENS

with the following letters left over

    A M N N P I R S S U A U L G Y A U

Thanks for the reply, Tron. Even though it's a short string, I think it's helpful, because I'm trying to identify key words. I'll set a possible key word aside and then work on a solution with the remaining letters.

In trying to anagram the 34 letters, Iíve thought about the following words:

Ana, Rusful, Token, Next, Page, Sixty, Anagram, Petal, Hunt, Hint, Find, Treasure, And, Is, State Park, National Park, Fairy, Exist, Paradigm, Extra, Round, Pyramid, Lake, Round, Area, Pair, August

Iíd start with one or more of these words, and shift the remaining letters around trying to anagram something.

Since z and c are not in this batch, the following words arenít possible:

Zac, Announcement, Second, Fifteenth, Summer, Look, California or CA, Puzzle, Clue, Vacation

Here are some anagrams Iíve played with (some are partial):

DAISY P ANAGRAM: RUSFUL IN NEXT TOKEN HUNT
DAISY P ANAGRAM: NEXT TOKEN HUNT IS RUSFUL
A DIPSY ANAGRAM: RUSFUL IS NEXT TOKEN HUNT
A DIPSY ANAGRAM: NEXT TOKEN HUNT IS RUSFUL
AS ANY PARADIGM: RUSFUL IS NEXT TOKEN HUNT
AS ANY PARADIGM: NEXT TOKEN HUNT IS RUSFUL
TRY HUNG MAP, ANA AND RUSFUL TOKENS EXIST
TRY M HANG UP, ANA AND RUSFUL TOKENS EXIST
MAY GRIP HUNT: ANA AND RUSFUL TOKENS EXIST
    HUNT: ANA PYRAMID LAKE N R U S F U T O N S G E S I X T
    TREASURE HUNT MISSION N K P X D U A N L G T F A Y A
FIND ANA IN UGLY HOMERUN STATE PARK S S X U
UNHOUK UNX PETALS AND STEMS A FAIRY RING
SLUGY EXERTS: FIND ANA MOUNTAIN PARK H S U
    FIND AUGUSTUS NATIONAL PARK E M H R S X N Y E
    FUTURE MISSION STATE PARK Y N N H X D U L G
    ANA IS SIXTEENTH ROUND AUGUST PARK F M L Y N

Does this spark ideas for anyone?

I would focus on these first then see what comes out of what is left.
He never spells out park so I went with:
ANA SIXTEENTH, FOUND IN ??? SP
    With : A T U S G U A M R Y K L left over.

Or it could say: ANA SIXTEENTH, FOUND AT ????? SP
    With : I N U S G U A M R Y K L left over.

No question is a stupid question if you don't

    Lindenmi,

Thanks for adding some possibilities. I've been considering whole words first but I'll keep an eye on possible abbreviations.
