Default Apparently this hunt is still on

This post got lost, so I'll try again...

Mark Parry at Quest4Treasure has contacted Duck Miller, and the auther responded that the hunt is still on, sans the website. You can see the full message as a registered member at http://www.quest4treasure.co.uk/foru...p?topic=2305.0.

there was just another update(july 10th) on Q4T-- the key is still out there.

I think it would be great to brainstorm on this hunt again. In some recent posts, there has been talk of that.

someone on the Q4T site had mentioned about each story/chapter being related to a -- year of the pig. That sounds like a good place to start.

    heres some pig years---

    1851, 1863, 1875, 1887, 1899, 1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, and 2007.

it is interesting to note that there are 11 years in between thats not a pig year. and 11 is an important number to the puzzle.

I was wondering whether the circle on the map with the letters-- old and cle-- would be anagrammed to spell -- code ll-- or if the l's would be symbols for the number 11?

    any thoughts?

The Year of the Pig thought is a good one. I will ponder it.

As for the circle on the map, it is centered over today's Punxsutawney (of Groundhog Day fame), and the letters contained in the circle legitimately belong to surrounding town names. I think the only significance is the Punxsutawney connection.

I just reviewed "Winter Land" with the Year theme in mind, but the only two years I can come up with are 1974 (date of The Grateful Dead's Groundhog Day concert at Winterland) and 1985 (date of The Dead's August 24 performance at Donner's Summit). Neither of those is a Year of the Pig.

I suppose the thought of the pig year being important for each story is proven wrong with this chapter ----- as there isn't a pig year that a friday, also falls on Feb 22nd.

unless the story is an allusion to something that happened in 1935 or 1839.

    forest blight--

I just read your post on Q4T--(I had missed it )

It certainly would seem that 'winter land' is about the Grateful Dead and the song- it must have been the roses.

A very interesting development over at Q4T. The "firsts" theme apparently points to Pittsburgh, leaving little room for doubt.

Is anyone still working on this? If you are current on The Whistle Pig, I would like to compare my findings.. Too much to list here.
