I am trying to find Dan Millender's birthday. So far I haven't been able to find it. But I am starting this thread to post any information on DM. Here is a link I found:

Looks like he spends a lot of time at Pimlico, home of the Preakness (horse racing). Starting to look at the area on google maps satellite view.

It may not be as simple of an outline of a water way or other boundary. It may be a perspective that you must be flat footed in front of to see. And, scale is such a vast and varied array of possibilities. But, my belief is that the very obscure "whistle pig" shadow is the major mark for where the treasure shall be.

I agree. I've always thought it to be a body of water, or perhaps a county outline, or a shadow--a shadow that may even be further complicated by only being cast at a particular time of day.

Cool. Maybe we should work from that perspective.

deacon posted about the stories to give locations by creating a cross or X marks the spot as one might say. General location.
Talk of a more specific spot are abound, meaning a park name or location within a general area.
You need a location withing that for which a story points to.
You need a direction or "perspective from" clue that a story would have to point at.
You need a time of day AND a day of the year clue to be able to see a shadow cast by the sun. And, should it be overcast or rainy that day...it might take you a few years to see the shadow. So a story would need to reveal this/these clues.
And, what does a shadow reveal to you? How does it show excatly where a key may be found? What if it is cast by a rock formation or tree notch and the shadow is only say, 6 to 10 inches yet you might be looking for something huge. (in which case you could make a guess on what might cast such a shadow at any time during the year if, you got to the right spot form which to see the shadow).

Lay out the "chapters" and mark off ones you have been given a piece with. Look for answers in the ones you dont.

I think chapter one gives the more specific. But since I have not found it yet, I might be wrong.

What if it is something that will only make sense from being there (general location) and then putting 2 and 2 together for the specific by analyzing the chapter in the book?

That is possible. The last part of the book, there is a quote "because it is there" or something like that, as well as going from the gray shadows to the light. I think that is the final piece.
