wow...even though i am not working on it....that seems a bit discouraging to be called thick....no offense winnie...but imho that was kinda harsh...

how bout a new year's resolution to help your fellow man rather than cut em down? building someone up is harder than knockin em down...although it should be the other way around dont ya think?

peace...and good luck to my fellow twelevers...im sure ur onto something...but take a step back...breathe...and then go back and look to the simpler side of things...

'Tis true - there is still life out there!! I was going to say stoopid rather than thick but I thought I'd better keep meself under control. It's a simple enough little puzzle.....

To think of all the hints wot I've given an' all. Everything needed to solve it has been mentioned on the (various) forums on which it has been discussed - except the one thing that would provide the answer! And it's there. Right there in the book. On almost every page. And still no one has mentioned it. I'm sorry - but I'm going to have to maintain the right to use the word 'thick'.

And the other thing is that at least one person needs to work like a cruciverbalist. Now there IS a hint!!!

I fink you lot have gived up. Funny reely, cos you've got all the clues and methods sorted out - except for one. Gabi made a post a while back that was interesting. Where do you start? The answer's in the poem. And no one has noticed something that appears on every page....

Hey ho! It's nearly Easter. The hunt has been going for over a year - and you still haven't solved it.

I'm dissa.., disapp..., unhappy that you aren't having the success I thought you would.

Now that Melbourne is over why not try Winchester again?

Where do you start? The answer's in the poem.
well, if the answer is in the poem, then the place to start is where the faintest sound is heard. That would be the crypt. Does that mean that we have to start taking letters from the bottom of the square?

And no one has noticed something that appears on every page....
Something that appears on every page are the images (almost all of them have a door, a gate or a window), but not all of them, so that is not the detail we are missing. What I have noticed is that the number of images in each picture is 1, 2 or 3. Should we use that number to know how many spaces we have to move in that page from the starting "cryptic" letter?

I'll kill that Phil. Fancy giving you the clues you need!! But you still haven't quite got it. Here's a hint tho' - you are looking at the wrong pages as well as the right ones.

I like the idea of counting pictures. I count sheep meself.

There was an author, who once worked in a draper's shop in Hampshire, who wrote a book that might give you a hint. Mind you, I've forgotten the name of the author - and the book - but I think they made the book into a film in 2002 and 1960....

Don'tya just lurve a good puzzel?

So, we have to look at the text too.

The Time Machine, by H.G. Wells. Ok, time to look at our time travels through the tour.

Well I'm going to be so bold as to say that is still scathing! And very easy to say when you know how to work out the answer

I would just like to say that not all us Brits are this harsh

Of course we are - just that some people pretend not to be.
