States. I was sitting around, being bored in the computer labs, when I saw a buddy doing something that was not quite a crossword puzzle with a lot prettier pictures. One conversation and two hours later, I ended up here.

So now I am here -- feeling like I have a lot of catching up to do. :P

Yes, but there are bronze and silver awards to get also. Once you have the hunt, you can research the answers and claim the certificates.

    Good luck.

Another soul happily corrupted with Armchair Treasure Hunting . . .

    Bwah! Hah! Hah!

The local college has a huge gaming population, and even a major in game design. It should not take long before a few more trickle in (assuming they already haven't started.)
I originally wanted to do "Where it all went wrong", but 5 days later, this topic nicely dove-tailed . . .

Everyone's on break until the 14, so you most likely have a reprieve.

    For now.

    Thumbs up

It looks like a Britain vs America race then...

I fink the Yanks may be a bit ahead - BUT the Armchair Treasure Hunt people are pretty good too and if they get out of their armchairs they could easily do it.

There are still copies of the hunt available - click on the banner at the top of the page to buy - you'll get a 10% discount and Tweleve gets some money too!

So, at the moment we've got Piggy, PussCat, Sunglasses and the bloke who went round the world in 80 days as current competitors. I don't fink you are trying very hard. It's soooo easy. (And I know what's stumping most of you - but I'm not telling )

Righty ho Passepartout, a paddling we will go. Don't like the thought that our cousins may be a bit ahead, but after all, we've got until the 14th .... should be a doddle !!!!!

Wonder where Winnie's stump is ...... have you seen it?

I may have... but then again, I may not...

I think my main unknowns are:

    i) The guards of six or twenty (have vague notion what this might mean)

ii) Pay heed to both the bird and fish (I think I know what this is about. If I am wrong, it means a big rethink)

iii) ...via Europe go, Italy's sun, France's snow (again, I have an idea what this is about; I suspect it is not vital to solving the puzzle though)

iv) Measures of tranquillity (Vaguest of ideas here, but wouldn't tie in with i) or with iii), so possibly wrong. Suspect it will be a confirmer once the puzzle is solved)

Ok Hog, we've got 10 days before the U.S. are back from their hols. No problem! (The fact that I haven't solved it in the previous 600 days doesn't dampen my spirits, oh no)

Oh, and of course the main unknown:

Count the places that you see

I have at least five (!) different interpretations of these 'places that you see'... and half a dozen ways of counting them, too. The combinations are many and scarey.

Then there's the question of whether the answer will be an anagram or not (and whether it will be in English...)

    Lots to ponder anyway.

    A puzzled Passepartout

Yes I think this is the main problem, that we don't have confirmed answers for some of the basic bits. I think the guards of six or twenty is very important, but I don't think it's numbers (5,7,19,21). We need to link some of these clues together, as you say, the combinations of counting the places have a wide affect.

I'm just working on as many combinations as I can see, and hoping that I strike lucky ... providing that I can recognise it, if and when I do.

But like you Passepartout, I'm not phased by the fact that we've only got a 10 day start ..... the last couple of years are as of nought !!!

Oh please, please don't let it be an anagram !!
