Default the yin and the yang of it

I was thinking about how different people drink in those quotes you see that are sometimes meant to be motivational.

Quite frankly sometimes what pops into my mind is not a positive response.

So I thought I would try a new thread.

Here is the way I thought it would work - but hey do with it what you want.

A quote will be posted. Which gives you a chance to reply to it in a way that will allow you to stretch your - um - let's say darker side if you like.

STEADFAST RULE: NO CRITICAL RESPONSES TO SOMEONE'S RANT. NO PM'S EITHER. The quote should be the only motivational part of this exercise in fun.

Your upbeat, positive, nasty, dark, or humorous response to a quote just may be what someone else needed for that day.

    Have fun!

    The first yin:

"Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm."
    ~Winston Churchill
So. What's the first thing that pops into YOUR head?

    yadda! yadda! yadda!
I know. And I'll play the next POTC, GoldRush, Doritos game anyway. These games are like childbirth. Their painful labor. You say never again when the end is near, geesh even your ears hurt. Then we forget that pain when the next one comes along.

So let me get this straight. You're saying that a win is equal to lots of happy losses? And maybe you can get an A if you get lots of F's with style?

    Riiiight.

Whatcha smoking in that cee-gar of yours, Winston?

How correct you are, Winston - They're the people who consistently do the wrong things, but who are so damned adorable you can't help but love them. They're the one you'll bail out of jail when they get caught AGAIN with the hooker, or the one who is so smitten with a(nother) married man they can't possibly see that he will not, will NEVER, leave his trophy wife. They have a mile-wide grin and bed hair and they look too cute for words. They throw themselves into disaster after disaster with joi de vive and come out unscathed. They write poetry, compose music, solve puzzles, run banks, and dismantle servers without any effort at all. They either fail out of school because they know all the textbooks' mistakes or they ace a five year program in just two short years. They're the ones who get bored and try something new, something dangerous, something you wish with all your heart and soul that you had enough courage to try. They drink beer at lunch; they wear flip flops to work. They sleep on futons or floors - whose, they may not know - and never complain about jarred bones or sore muscles. They have more energy than you will ever dream of having and they have a wider reference to life and love and they know things you only dream of knowing. They make you sick to your stomach because they are all that you can't be and so you pull them closer and closer to try to vamp some of what makes them THEM and you can never swallow fast enough to get a big enough drink. Most of us judge them in our only effort to feel better about our sad, pitiful, lonely, lost selves.
