At the announcement on Saturday, he said it would be posted soon. Whatever soon means.

When he told the group at the school about it on Friday he used his hands to make the shape of a ball. The size he made was probably larger than a golf ball, maybe as big as a tennis ball. Not sure though if that is the actually size of the gem or not.

That would be incredible if it was that big, but what would you do with it. It would be too big to set for a ring and too heavy for a necklace. I still would love to get my hands on it, but you just don't want a golfball size diamond just laying around the house. I doubt it's that big if it's really rare and it only worth $10,000+.

How big of a cut diamond (or how many?) can one get out of an *uncut* diamond, which is what this is, if I remember correctly. I picture it looking like a lump of coal.

IMO I think it's probably the best "deal" of the bunch. An uncut stone can't be marked up 5-10x like an ensemble piece can. So, even though it's not as much in advertised value, it might be worth (on the real market) as much as the smaller jewels. ... and it'll also be easier to part with and cash in!

I think that you'd be a fool NOT to take the jewel; the beauty and hardwork established in them cannot be seen in a stack of greens.

Destructo, I agree that it could be worth more in the real market due to the fact that it is uncut. Pieces of jewlery carry much less value after leaving the jewlery store. This uncut diamond has more potential than the other pieces. Although, like I said you can"t really turn this into jewlery without cutting it or it isn't going to be as pretty to display. It all about it's potential if your considering selling it. Also the fact that it is so different from the insects, etc.

The uncut black diamond is harder to cut. And it could lose value because they cant be sure what will happen when it is cut or what shape it will take.
