I'm not sure I believe that clue three being "still relevant" necessarily means more tokens. After all, if clue three simply reveals that there is an additional token (i.e., Rusful), then perhaps it is still relevant, since no one has located it yet.

On the other hand, I sure do like the idea of more than one more token left! With respect to that, I hope you're right.
Always remember that you're unique. Just like everyone else.

You have one listed on your site. Is this an error?

I was a little inaccurate with the above statement; I should have said that the firefly didn't have a dropcap map. The actual text of the Firefly dropcap discussion makes this reasonably clear. It starts off with:

The Dropcap for the Firefly is found on page 28. However, there is no Fairy as part of this dropcap, nor is there a map fragment.
    Sorry about that.

Steve - no problem. I have been reading your site off and on in my spare time. It's really great! So much information!

I just wanted to point out, still, that while one of the many exceptions to the rule for the firefly solution is that there is not a map or fairy in the dropcap, there IS still a dropcap.

In my earlier post I said that "there was no Pook dropcap map." I should have said that there wasn't any dropcap whatsoever.

Fair enough. So we know that for Pook, the "Exceptions" include:

    - No hidden creatures
    - Clues in the text
    - No Dropcap at all (not just the map)
    - The solution included numbers

    Common points:

    - Standard 5x5 grid was used
    - Token was initially hidden in a tree (this is a bit speculatory, but I think it's reasonable)

    Unclear:

    - whether the Pook tree had an illustration in the book.

Soooo... even if we assume the tree is in the book, the number and scope of the exceptions is fairly large. I think it's therefore fair to speculate that the Rusful token will have similar exceptions. (Not necessarily the same exceptions, but probably a larger number of exceptions than we normaly see).

The tokens would be found in states not yet used, which would definitely increase the chances that tokens are spread out and that there is one within a day's drive of pretty much anywhere.  So the comments he made in reference to that wouldn't be lies either.

We already know that the rules are different for Rusful - web clues were certainly never part of the other solves.  The rules were also different for Pook.  There was no Pook dropcap map.  The coordinates gave us two numbers, in addition to the letters.  And so maybe another twist is that these tokens aren't in knotholes.  It's a possibility.  And if it is true, if Pook really was placed in the ground intentionally, then Stadther has never lied.  I believe that is what we will discover in the days to come.
Here is my disclaimer. I thought I had 3 other tokens solved and was way off. Sent my son on 4 token chases to no avail. It was wonderful.

So. . . I believe I have solved Clue #3. I've been sitting on it for 2 weeks waiting for someone to get closer to the actual solve to post anything about it. The clue is information specific, completely relevant and we can look forward to more tokens. Clue #3 literally starts the hunt all over again. I haven't solved Clue #4. Knowing the solution to Clue #3 only gives you part of the complete solution. I'm sure there will be at least 3 more clues - all involving Clue #3. I don't know if the book will be needed to solve any of the puzzle created with Clue #3. I suspect it will.

I'm not going to post my solution. I want to work on Clue #4 and send my son on at least one more token chase. I know everyone will understand.

If you go on a token chase, please remember to take only pictures (and maybe a token) and leave the park in better condition than when you arrived.

Congratulations if you have solved Clue #3!

From what you say it sounds like we would really need the solution to Clue #3 in order to find a token. Is that right? A lot of people have been thinking Clue #3 is just an "announcement" clue like the Clue #1 "Crystal Pook is thirteen". I myself had kind of given up on Clue #3, figuring it wasn't that important. But if Clue #3 is necessary for finding part of the solution to the remaining token(s), no wonder the solution has never been posted by ATT! Do you think it probably never will be posted until after a token is found?

Without #3, #4 is useless. We need to solve both. I have an idea about what #4 contains, but have yet to figure out the solution.

I don't think MS will post the solution to #3 until someone posts it in the forum.

Life has hit hard and I have been unable to go a huntin'. I've been fiddling around with #3 to see if I may have missed something. I can't find another solve that makes total sense like the first solve does.

I believe #4 is directly related to #3 but have not had the time to do the research necessary to verify my suspicions.

My 2 cents for the Starz announcement is that MS will, at the very least, give a clue on how to solve #3. It may even be the solve to #3. People are dropping from the hunt like flies and MS needs to do something to keep the excitement level high. The finish line is to far away to end it now.

I don't have any good news of a definite token find, but like everyone else, I have the hope of a token find - even if it isn't me.

    Thanks for asking,
