I don't really find a Bayou State Park in Louisiana....

I do see a Bayou Segnette State Park in Louisiana. Is there a Bayou SP that I am missing???

Another option might be Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park in Florida.

But, MS seems to have been very specific in all of his previous solutions. I don't think that Bayou SP is the right answer here.
What is the sound of one hand clapping?

    Default We're checking

My family lives close by and we are taking holiday to search Bayou Segnette Park. No one recalls this tree. Maybe the hurricane floated it away?
We will spend a lot of time out there. You will Know

I agree with you, Beetleboy. However, there can be no mistake that the final 4 finger counts combine to make SP. It is sorta too easy, really.

Bayou is a stretch, for sure, from the remaining fingers. Perhaps someone else can make better sense from them, or maybe the SP is pure coincidence, and there's nothing there.

If fairy fingers count anywhere, page 36 looks to be a better bet.

Nevertheless, good luck, Kajonshef! 912 miles is over twice as far away as I'm willing to go (one way) on a weak clue. By the way, what tree are you referring to?

I'll continue to pair up pottery shards, etc. until someone finds Rusful.

Perchprism: I am still working on your suggestion...but I found some more fingers that you may have missed. To the left of the three "dotted" gals where you found your second coordinate, right by the brown border under the wing, there seems to be one or two fingers. They are large and seem to be way out of proportion.

Right above that wing thing there is a toothed guy with a braid that comes around his neck. Are those numbers? 2 or 7 or two 2's?

Also, if you look closely to the right of the 4 talons and to the left of the guy with a single horn in his head you can see two fingers.

Directly in the lower left hand corner there are 3 giant fingers clasped around what looks like a staff of some kind. And if you really look closely, there seems to be what look like twigs on that staff. I see the letters M and C, do you?

Also, the guy with the 80 on his forehead, look extremely closely at his chin....Do you see the letters M or N and then A and then U or V?

Then, the guy with the "J" hook...look at the right hand side of his hat, right at the edge, is that a W? And what's up with that hook anyway?

And, maybe I'm now starting to see things, but if you turn the page so that the binding is facing you look at the outside border (the left border, horizontally) with a magnifying glass. I keep seeing the number 25 over and over again. When you turn it right side up, the 25 becomes the faces.

I think you're on the right track with the coordinates, but I think that there might be more. Maybe a combination of hands, talons, etc. There's so much on this page that it is hard to get rid of all the "noise"....If that makes any sense. And by the time this is all said and done I'll be totally and permanently crosseyed. LOL

Nightowl--I have found extra fingers as well that eluded me the first several times I paired up fingers. The SP at the end remains intact, but the other letters change, and all I can get is garbage. Bayou SP was never satisfactory as a solution location. I will compare what you have pointed out (extra fingers) to what I found extra, and see if anything comes out of it. Thanks.

Personally, I wouldn't spend too much time looking for 'free' letters or numbers in these pages. They are all over the place, but have never been useful in a solution (aside from piecing together poem fragments).

I had been guessing that Clue 4 and the Starz clues would point out the correct solution page for Rusful in the book, and maybe how to solve it. I hoped to short-circuit that by finding the page early and working on it. No success, obviously. Book pages that depict Rusful are first choices, but Pook was solved with the mushroom code, remember, so Rusful could be hiding anywhere, even in the berries on page 10. The border trees on page 16 look suspiciously like a puzzle, if they can be categorized logically 1 thru 5. The pottery pieces on page 80 look promising as well. I'll have another go at the page 55 Darklings.

    Default The Rusful token

Digitizer if you are reading this please contact me. I have made some discoveries on the crosses and the place where the Black Diamond could be. I don't want to give it out on the net because if I am wrong I do not want to be put down.
The crosses are a color spectrum (wheel) and there are two things in the book that shows the colors. The map in the back ground are the Diamonds cor-ordinates, the map has to be turned to see the co-ordinates.
Page 68 not only tells the state but names the area around it.
I am an artist so I look at the pictures differently. I have done research on the past finds on the net to see what picture clues were given.
my e-mail taffyfl12@earthlin.net . I have pictures to show you to back up what I am saying.

    Default The Rusful Token

Ok, now lets talk Rusful. It seems many are running off to far places right now and seem to have a definite clue. Well so do I.
I have studied all the clues and the story to the point my book is coming apart>
What do we iknow about Rusful?
    1. He lived in a village and was a Alchemist.
    2. He made medicines for many of the villages and was kind to them at one time.
    3. He was like KIng Midas everything he touched turned to gems.
    Note: ( I believe he was Ana"s father.}
    Now:
    4. His experiments turned him into a Jekyl
    5. He lived in a dark cave.
    6. His fight with Pook caused him to die not from pook but from the sun. Pook jumped up and pushed him into the sun. He fell on the ground. The sun melted him into a black lump.(Black Diamond) Then a stream of water floated his remains a way.
Thus far in all the previous jewels hunts counting, anagraming, crypto whatever was done. This one is different. Pook was not found in a tree. I do not believe "The Black diamond" will be found in a tree. Why?
    7. He hung the limbs of dead trees in his cave and placed the jewels on them. Therefore the 12 jewels were all found hanging nailed or whatever inside of tree trunks, knots or holes.
    8. Rusful died from the sun and on the ground.
There are more clues but I don't want to give it away until I find it. If it is where I think it should be I could be wrong but my feelings are so strong it feels right.
I am going tomorrow where I think the jewel will be.

    Default page 55 as coordinates?

Someone had said , way back when, that the boarder around page 55 was made out of little cut outs. Is there a way to categorize them into 5 different cut outs? I can't quite tell where they start and stop but it seemed like it could be a possibility.
    Just throughing ideas out there.

Default Perch - you read my mind.

    Hey Perch,

I agree with you one-hundred percent that there is something important about the fingers on page 55. I actually tried doing what you did with the fingers back when I was looking for the hummingbird...waaayyyy back when . There's something about them that has ALWAYS stood out like....well.....like a sore thumb. I don't know what to say about the directions and so forth, but I think that you are on to something with this train of thought. It simply has to do with discovering the appropriate patterns and combining them in the correct way. Remember how long we fiddled with the beetle blocks? We all knew something was there, but couldn't figure out how to decode it.

One other aspect of this whole thing that I can't let go: what about all the odd letters from the previous solves?

Maybe we need to take the letters we get from the fingers and plug the in to the clue on Starz?

OR, maybe we need to use the odd letters from all the previous solves and plug them into the Starz clue.

Or...maybe we need to combine the odd letters plus the fingers plus the starz clues......ugh. this is crazy stuff.

I haven't been around much lately - I work full time, but also have been enrolled in fourteen credit hours this semester, so haven't had much time to trove. My last final ended about an hour ago, so now I have a few weeks to get back into the hunt. I'll contribute as I think of things. Thanks for keeping the ideas flowing.

    -Mel
