    Default pg 55

Strange.....if you look at the right hand side there is a repeat of the man wearing what looks to be a stocking cap. There is another man right next to him (to his right as we are looking at it). Specifically look to the right of the word "cut" in the in the first paragraph. The exact two are also straight below "rocks" in the second paragraph - only this time the guy with the stocking like cap is bending his arm up. No arm visible on the right border and there has not been a cut in the puzzle pieces to cut the arm out of the picture. So why has the arm been added in the in the picture below?

Other ideas I haven't started on yet but maybe someone else has -

Fingers: If you read the fingers on the bottom right they are: 3-4 and 1-4 (SP) (the 3-4 are the fingers visible on the two men to the left side of the "bent arm" and 1-4 are on two men on the right side of the bent arm)
    .
Anyone done anything with the weapons that cross over the border into the white area? The only one that doesn't repeat itself anywhere else I can see is the one with points sticking out of it (under the word "clear").

And, then there are the torches at the top left - 2 and then 5.

One last observation, the female to the left of "rain" in the story (the one bending over to the left), her arm is not spots, it looks like it has letters on it - something like "aoun" (read with page upside down).
    .
I'VE BEEN LOOKING AT THIS PAGE WAY TOOOOOO LONG!

    Default MEN

    Something is strange here too.....

The four men on the bottom right (the only ones you can see arms on) do not "fit" in with the rest of the picture of evil darklings. All four are wearing "normal" clothes compared to the rest. The first one, the one with his right hand holding his head is dressed in a shirt and has a blanket over his lap. (Then there is the little one between them with his left hand holding his head - also dressed normal). Next comes almost a mirror image of the first one except the arm on the lap is positioned differently and he has a different patterened blanket over his lap. Finally the one in the very bottom right corner - also dressed normal. None of the four, except for their hook noses, resemble the prehistoric or spotted people (darklings?) on the rest of the page.

Could the position of the arms play a part in this solve along with fingers? You know I've been trying to read more into this page when I start seeing an acorn atop a head (second head directly left of the word "led" in the story).........................

I need some relief....I'm heading out to go Xmas shopping.

    FYI

I went to the Rocky State Bayou park back in July looking for the Beetle. I never found anything but letterboxes hidden in the park. The map on the website looks a little different than the handout brouchers. Happy hunting.

I was looking at page 55 for the millionth time and I just happened to notice that the serpent's wings in the lower right hand corner of the inside frame have talons, 2 and then 4. This would add another set of coordinates to Bayou SP. I don't know where this takes us all, but I----just keep on swimming!!! LOL Vitta

I'm not sure if this is some sort of printing error, or just my book...but on page 55 I also noticed that the two figures in the right-hand border(across from the word "cut"--the ones that repeat themselves on the bottom-)where the one "darkling's" arm should be raised up,there is a small gray splotch-at the very edge of the page- that is the exact same shape as the hole in the leaf in the top left corner of page 41 and the leaf in the drop-cap of the beetle blocks page,63.

I saw it and thought it might indicate a starting point for something on the border.

The gray blob has its own thread in the Archives under page 55 images. Spiderman determined it to be a leaf shape.

I'd about forgotten I'd posted back on Feb. 27 that I could see 'NY CITY' in the border margin. Here's the original post:

"I see NY City in the margin. The easiest letter in CITY to see is the Y, which is about 2.5 inches long (and skinny, about 1/4 inch wide) in the left-hand border collage, at about the middle of the page. The top of the Y is level with the top of the large bat wing and the bottom of the T-Drop cap square. The bottom of the Y is level with the word RAIN in the text. You can see the T in CITY --the bottom of the T ends about a half inch above the top of the Y and is about an inch long. From the top of the T go up another half inch to see the bottom of the I--it is shifted to the left, close to the binding and is about an inch long. Go up another half inch from the top of the I and you can see the C--it's also about an inch long. The top of the C begins about an inch below the top of the outside brown border margin. On the right side collage, the N and Y are located in the middle of the L in Rusful. The Y is dark and the N is light. The Y is directly on top of the N.

Under CITY on the left, and NY on the right, there appear to be words that are much more difficult to make out".

I can still see NY City in that darn margin. I wonder if it was some sort of clue to the ANT location -- swanNY CITY? I doubt it. I wonder about that NY City, now. It doesn't look like a figment of imagination. I have a hard time seeing much of what people point out in pictures, and this is fairly distinct to me.

The weapons of the Darklings across the bottom inner border comprise 5 distinctly different types, which would be a key if there were only enough weapons in the rest of the page to get a decent letter-count.

    Clue 8 tonight!
