    Default Starz Clues Commonalities

The obvious thing about the Starz clues are that they all have word crosses and the same background -- it's the latter that I've been focusing my attention on.

Turn any of the Starz clues CW 90 degrees and in the lower right corner you'll see what is clearly a faded map of the continental US (see the Florida peninsula and Baja California sticking out?)

The vanishing point for the map seems to be at the bottom of the page (in the rotated position) so the map gets larger because of perspective as you look further up the page. The backwards "Z" which is next to a convergent point of the lines and circles appears to be right in Washington state, in the area of Mt. Rainier or even possibly Mt. St. Helens.

Rusful (being an anagram of Sulfur) and the story line and it's relation to volcanoes or volcanic areas would seem not to be a coincidence. Remember, no intentional red herrings.

Without knowing more yet, my guess is that the Rusful token is in the Cascade Mountains of Washington state, perhaps Mt. Rainier National Park or the Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument.

    More analysis to do...

    Default references to volcanoes

Mibrop, quite awhile ago I posted about Rusful anagramming to Sulfur. I have been searching the Oregon/Washington Area since July. Went to the Mt. Rainier Area to the Crystal Mtn. Ski recreation area looking for Pook after seeing a lot of "stull" in the crystal Pook (p.93) that seemed to point to Rainier or St. Helens. Also searched several areas in the St. Helens National Park but with no luck. My theory is that several tokens are still left to find and there is probably one in Washington, one in Oregon, and one in California. The only problem is finding the damn 5x5's to be able to pinpoint the parks. I see so many clues on the puzzle pages when you look hard enough but would rather have the confirmation of the 5x5 to pinpoint things. The Starz clues have not helped me a heck of a lot unless you count making a lot of words that could still point to areas in the West especially Oregon. Will post from time to time if the St. Helen's theory or Mt. Rainier get any hotter.

Please remember to post web clue comments in the web clue forums. This keeps organization, as well as lets people find what they're looking for faster.

    Default correction

oops "stull" should be "stuff". The Pook Crystal triangles and other things embedded in the picture sure remind me of the NW. Time will tell.
