Diddledee-- I remember Dungeons and Dragons the Saturday morning cartoon show. It was the one where the group of 5 kids entered the hautedhouse/rollercoaster and were transported to a fable land...

It was also my favorite kid cartoon show of all time! Even though I remember only seeing about 3 episodes before they canceled it..

I remember the Super Mario Bros. show. Oh, and Sonic the Hedgehog, I used to like that one... and Power Rangers, even dressed up as one for Halloween when I was little. I can't believe that it is still on tv!

There were some great shows... The Adventures of Pete and Pete, Doug, Cow and Chicken, Rugrats (pre-Dil era), Transformers, Kirby...

You know what led to the brainwash stage of cartoons? Pokemon. Pokemon was the gateway that led to this whole "Spongebob" era. Because it created two entities associated with television: Not only revenue from the show, but also profit from product sales. Did Doug ever come out with a video game? Did Pete and Pete ever have trading cards? No. The shows were good too. Because they knew that they had to focus on the quality of the show, because that was all there was: The show. There was little, if any, outside profit. Brainwash TV exists because the writers of the show get lazy. They know that they can write a bad episode, yet still get enough viewers to watch it because kids love it, and even if they don't, they can still rely on profit from toy sales from the show. TV is infecting other markets with its "BUY THIS TO BE COOL!" Marketing scheme.

Then again, I'd probably buy a "Just Jack!" Action figure.

    Yarr,
    Kraka

P.S. If ye can name the show that "Just Jack" is from, a Kraka Coin awaits you!
