Good point about the Ladybug not coming thru the window. The Ant you are referring to is the Ant waiting for her mate. I think when we refer to the Ant not being there ...it is the missing mate, like the butterfly and now the ladybug.

All this is mute, do to the fact thay are all back in the illustration on page 101.

There is all this discussion about the ant and the butterfly not being there at the end. Did anyone happen to notice that in the siloettes on pages 34 and 103 that the butterfly is carrying the ant. Now why is it that those two's mates are not mentioned? The jewels were left at the grotto then turned back into creatures to fly back in one evening's time to meet up with the rest. I think MS put the 3 dots in the sentence ". . ." as a filler to include those not mentioned...kind of a yaddy, yaddy, yaddy. The next sentence says joined with "all their mates".
It might be time to move on about the missing bugs, I don't feel that it is important.

    Default Ant on Pg. 10

I think an ant is on page 10. Look on tree on left side about .5 - .75 inches below the fork in the tree - on the rt. edge of the trunk. I scanned it at high resolution and then looked at it in Photoshop - looks like an ant to me.

Regarding page 77, if you fold the right side of the page onto the left and align the borders, it says "there are ......" can't make out the rest!!!
    Anyone figure this one out?

Please see my post "Hungry Hungry Spider" in the Spider section. The Spider ate the Ant. Notice the Spider attacking the Ant on page 101. Now, what happened to the Butterfly...

    Default ant on pg 10

I agree with Foo2oo2, that does indeed look like an ant on page 10 on the branch to the left of "Friendship". Much more so than anything I've seen on page 77. I can see his body, 2 legs, head and atleast 1 antenna.

    just my thoughts.

The ladybug and her husband are mentioned in the paragraph before! :P

    Default ants ants ants

if you compare the silouette of the ant (on butterfly's back) on p. 34, it looks very little like the bug on p. 45 ....the back end of the body is not a tiny ovoid shape, like the p. 34 ant, and the legs on p. 34 are short straight lines.... our p. 45 bug looks a LOT MORE like the spider, comparing that with the spider on p. 34-- the legs, the body shape... the "antennae" on p. 45 still stump me though, as they match those of neither insect.... has anyone located the 2 ants for sure yet, because i'm lost at this point, & i've gone over every illustration with a magnifying glass
