Default HEADED OUT TO FIND ANT!!!!!!

Finally, my first post. Headed out to search for Ant tonight should make it to location by midnight. Getting up early to head to park. Me and my partner have had this location mapped out for a couple of months now, but only now are we able to do some actual troving. Will explain more later when i return home with ANT! - Wish me luck!!!!

I hope you have better luck than I did.

On a hunch, I decided to check out Lost Dutchman State Park, partly because it's mentioned in the clue book, partly because of the legend of lost gold surrounding the site, but mostly because it's a half hour from home. I've been thinking about looking there for months, but never have - why go out without a clear idea what you are looking for? (other than a token in a tree)

After months of coming up short, missing solutions by small errors, and of course, not living remotely close to anything except Bee, I decided that any clue was a good clue to lead me to a hunt. A positive ID would be icing on the cake, and could even be reverse engineered after the find.

So, when I looked up the park map today, I decided I had to go IMMEDIATELY. The map is a perfect overlay to the serpent picture on page 45- mean PERFECT. The fairy is pointing to an open area between two picnic sites. It really doesn't get any better than this - with one hitch...it's in Arizona. Not a lot of trees in this part of the state, but it was still worth the look.

So I took a half day off work and took the wife and three kids out to the park. There was a $5 entry fee, so I figured we would strike out. The kids knew we were following a longshot, so they were braced for the inevitable disappointment.

Not many trees with knotholes in the park, and those that did have them had very small ones. Lots of holes in the cacti, but no cacti that resembled the "tree" on page 43. We looked for a couple hours, then went to Sonic for Jr Banana Splits - ice-cream being a good anecdote for disappointment.

I am very glad we followed the lead generated from the drop cap map. We had fun and enjoyed the thrill of the hunt. If I find anything to lead me back, I won't hesitate to try again, but I would consider this State Park off the list.

Anyone have any leads in AZ, I am willing to hunt for you. It really was exciting.

Nice that someone can lurk for 3 months collecting data everyone has shared yet never share any of their own, and the only post you get is Wahoo, I solved the puzzle suckers!

If you search closely on these sites you will see that abosultely no helpful information has been posted re ANT - no one has solved anything re the Dandelions and no one can even agree on what page the 2nd Ant is located. No one has mentioned the place i am going to (i've done a search everyday to make sure) and no one has even mentioned the ANT being in the State I am searching. Every clue i have gathered has come from my own theories. If i find it or if it is found i will post information that i assure you NO ONE has ever mentioned. I am totally relying on myself right now. Even my partner has looked at the thngs i've come up and was amazed that she didn't see that and no one else has mentioned it from what we've seen.

i joined 3 days ago and my first post was a lengthy theory on the beetle puzzle.

    Thanks for playing.

.. I hope you do find it, I am not interested in the Ant nor am i interested if you posted any helpful hints to help others find the Ant, I just found it ..oh i don't know..rude maybe, that your first post is kinda like rubbing it in peoples faces that you been a member for 3 months yet your first post is to say you solved the Ant, if you wanted to do that you should have waited until you A. Found the Ant and posted that or B. waited till you returned empty handed and then shared your experience of not locating the Ant where you believed it to be. (not saying post your solution or anything, just post that you tried and failed.)

Posting a wahoo, i solved the Ant as a first post before you even have the ant is ...well I already covered that.

I'm actually glad he has finally posted, and won't hold it against anybody if they don't feel like posting. Good luck, and may you find the ant. But please, give us a good follow up either way, as your theory could be helpful to others, searching for the ant or the other puzzles.

I guess wherever you are, it ain't Red Rock, AZ, 'cause that's where our girl is looking. The ant map, although it doesn't match up perfectly, has features that are the same on the AZ state park map - like the break in the tail, and the way the tail curls up into a circle at its end. But with only 4 tokens left, chances are that AZ is too close to NM in order to cover the rest of the US. At least she had a fun time driving out there, and now has been further west than ever before.

Anyhow, I had a fun time, and unless a miracle happens (As in - my wife says, "Hey, this is a great way to spend your time"), I'm dropping out of the competition.

So good luck all, and hope you find your dreams.
