    Hi, Carol,
Shoot, I was hoping you had gotten it! Love both your names!

You think it was in Virginia? Thought we didn't need to anagram after the solution.

I really wish the finder would just post where they found it...pics etc.. I keep checking this post..hoping. It's tiring with people posting things like.. too bad you were a whole state off.. when really they have no proof either..

Distraction made a post in another thread that made a lightbulb pop and has led me to ask a peculiar question:

Can anyone tangram the five shapes of the butterfly puzzle into either an 'X' or a 'Y'?

    Many thanks.

Default The Butterfly is missing - but has it been found?

I have come up with an alternate location for the Butterfly - other than the PATTONS RUN solution that is floating around. Has anyone else gotten anything different? My solution did not use the 5X5 grid or any other, but simply relied on anagrams. Would anyone care to discuss?

Curiously enough, my solution is VERY close in proximity to the Pattons Run location. I think I may be on to something. I will say that my location is near the NC/TN border as well. If you have come up with anything close to there that is not the Pattons Run location and you would like to talk about it my email address is topps68bb@yahoo.com. We can also discuss it in the forum - but to protect the spirit of the hunt I will only reveal specifics through email, and only with someone that wants to partner up that is closer to the location or is willing to travel.

As the butterfly is already listed a missing, I suspect there isn't much of a "spirit of the hunt" left. But I could be wrong

Unless it was not actually found, but rather was moved by some other force. If it was actually found, why then has someone not come forward to claim it? As I am somewhat new to the hunt, I'm not sure exactly when the token was officially listed as missing... but you only have 30 days to claim it once it is discovered as missing. It looks like if anyone found it at all, it would have been on or around the 27th of May... so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Until MS says it's gone - I'm not giving up.

TreasureinTx: I emailed you. I am willing to go look for you. Let me know. I too am not giving up on the butterfly token until someone has a picture of it. It just seems too weird that with all those people around Patton's Run noone noticed MS checking the location? I think either a complete outsider who does not use internet forums found it or it is lost. I have a feeling it is lost since every other token has been admitted to being found by people on the net.

Default Ummmmm newbie here but i have a thought

Ok, so I'm new at this, but I came up with an thought last night, got excited and rushed online to see if it matched up with anyone else's thoughts. I came up with a location in Arizona, but apparently everyone is convinced it's in North Carolina? Well, I'm not going to post what I think i may have found, but if you email me I sure could use some help finishing this. baroncooper@aol.com

the solution has been posted for this.. you can probably find it, if you do a search. I solved this puzzle before the solution was openly posted and it is very similar to the other puzzles in the book.. too much so to be a coincidence.. it was in NC
