Are you sure? That whole area looks pretty densely populated...but I may not have found the right map.

Something tells me the time frame is not anywhere near the Revolutionary War
It is in the time scale of my profession.

I don't think the Arizona Hilltop is the correct one...I can't find any features that coincide with the map we were given. The other one looks more promising. It's not exact but the features ARE present.

    Yay post # 10

I dug out a map I had from a road trip to Reno a couple of years ago. Rand McNally - Western United States. I checked the LA area map first because it's the most obvious. It overlays perfectly on my road map..it's to scale. I just tried the Savageton map and it's not to scale. Took me a long time to find it. Savageton and Maysdorf aren't even shown on my map and neither are the buttes..I could verify the location only by matching up the waterways..The eastern tributary on the map we were given isn't shown on the RM map either. What I do know for sure is that the dotted lines are county lines and the lighter straight lines are the longitude/latitude lines. I also checked Wyoming and Washington and they aren't to scale with my map either. Those are all the states that are included on my maps. If someone has a Minnesota road map..could they check Hilltop? I thought "Central" was Central Ave...but on the online maps it should be University Ave or somethingoranother. The river matches and the bottom line of latitude matches the Anoka-(whatever the lower state is) line. Should be easy enough to confirm/disqualify.

Still counting... there are 13 maps, there are 13 different positions in the pigpen (multiplied by two by the dots). The pieces in the map fit with the shape of one of the pigpen figures: X.

I still don't know what to do with this, but maybe someone else could use the idea and make some progress.
