    Default Fairies: Names and Descriptions

    Fairies is also spelled Faeries

    The Good Fairies:

Flower Fairies: friendly and merry, gossamer wings, resemble small humans, like song, dancing and laughter, least mischievous of all Fairies

Kootenstoopits (also known as Urchins, Spiggans and Dobies): short and chubby, solitary disposition, do little harm, like to try on shoes, steal buttons and socks, like to wear socks as hats and then they lose them afterward

Pickensrooters (also known as Boggles and Spriggans): naughtiest of the Good Fairies, man-like hands, rat-like tails, no lock they cannot pick nor bow of ribbon they cannot untie, they stop clocks, spill salt, steal leftovers, and put crumbs in beds

    The Evil Fairies:

Darklings (also known as Skrileers, Varthkins and Wraiths): ugly, malevolent, vile, destructive, shadow lurking, foul smelling, slippery wings, leather-winged, they spoil food, spread plague and carry infection, they live in the grotto, Rusful is their human leader, afraid of elves

    Halfling:

Half Elf/Half Human - Ana is a halfling, elves are cousins to fairies

I tried to focus on the FAIRIES (spelled however, LOL), but strayed to the contents of Chapter Letter Boxes, or the lack thereof. Make of this what you will. I'm just thinking we're missing 'something' important here.

CH1 - P16 - Capital Z - FLOWER FAIRY pointing to one of the 5x5 colored squares in a box.
CH2 - P20 - Capital F - PICKENSROOTER pointing to leaf that looks like ANT token.
    CH3 - P22 - Capital D - KOOTENSTOOPIT pointing to a yellow square (is that an 'L'?).
CH4 - P25 - Capital B - PICKENSROOTER has hand on something flat and invisible, toe pointing to leaf? Hidden DRAGONFLY
    CH5 - P28 - Capital W - TALKING TREE looking at hidden BEE
    CH6 - P32 - Capital B - Red - No letter block, no fairy, no nothing!
    CH7 - P35 - Capital A - Red - No letter block, no fairy, no nothing!
CH8 - P45 - Capital S - PICKENSROOTER* pointing to grey DRAGON? on 5x5 grey stone blocks** in a box - Hidden ANT
    CH9 - P48 - Capital A - Blue? - No letter block, no fairy, no nothing!
CH10 - P52 - Capital O - FLOWER FAIRY pointing to hole? Hidden BUTTERFLY - Code in lines of this black and white box?
    CH11 - P55 - Capital T - PICKENSROOTER* pointing to something in RUSFUL's grotto - Hidden HUMMINGBIRD
    CH12 - P59 - Capital Y - KOOTENSTOOPIT pointing to jigsaw puzzle?
CH13 - P63 - Capital THE - On colorful building block - PICKENSROOTER, exact same one as P25, toe pointing to 'E'?
CH14 - P66 - Capital T (or There?) - HALFLING (Ana) standing in shape of 'T' (hinting at, or leading to P31?) - Hidden SNAIL
    CH15 - P69 - Capital T - FLOWER FAIRY pointing to dark vine? (Is that a 'D'?)
    CH16 - P73 - Capital P - Turquoise - No letter block, no fairy, no nothing!
CH17 - P78 - Capital R made out of SNAKE? - FLOWER FAIRY pointing to it, or leaf?
    - - - - - P84 - The Dream - No letter, no letter block, no fairy, no nothing! (but not beginning of a chapter, see P94)
    - - - - - P86 - The Dream continues - Lower case? H - 5x5 colored squares, some black, in a box
CH18 - P88 - Capital I - FLOWER FAIRY pointing to 'SPIDER border' (hinting at, or leading to P20-21? - Hidden BEE
CH19 - P94 - No letter, no letter block, no fairy, no nothing! (like P84)
    CH20 - P - Capital T - Red - No letter block, no fairy, no nothing!

*Can't see tail, but PICKENSROOTERS all appear to be red-headed and have 6 wings - Interesting, when tail doesn't show, they don't stick out tongue.
**If these were cut apart and rearranged, like a jigsaw puzzle, would it reveal something?

Nitpick: I think Ana is half elf and half human. Not fairy.

Good point! So why is she on that page? Others had assumed she was a FLOWER FAIRY, but she doesn't have wings. I still think she has something to do with P31.

You are correct. Thank you. I edited my original post to reflect the corrected info. I also added that fairies are cousins to elves, and that Darklings are afraid of elves, two more things I noticed when I was checking on the Halfling description.

And Darklings are *not* afraid of humans.

Anyone notice that some faeries have wispy wings, some have none, and a few on p 44 have feathery wings?

    notice
-the flower fairies are in abundance all over the pages
-kootenstoopits are mostly the one little girl who points at helpful things
-pickensrooters are mainly the redhead with the tongue problem (he can't keep it in his mouth)

    only flower fairies vary much
    Or am I just paranoid...

    *Of course*

    H4T,

On page 20, the Pickensooter's tail is showing but he is not sticking out his tongue. Not that its important...

    I know... I said:
"Interesting, when tail doesn't show, they don't stick out tongue."
    NO tail = NO tongue
    ... for what it's worth. :P
