Default you are all missing one more box

I've been looking for a couple of hours now to see if anyone else has seen the other grid but it doesn't look like it. I will say this though, if you read "The Dream" it says the box is as long as it is wide. Well the boxes at the beginning of some of these chapters that everyone is focusing on are not equal in dimensions, they are slightly rectangular. However... there is a 5x5 grid in the book that I found last night that is perfectly square.

Something else to consider is that "traditionally" one would expect the proverbial "wild-goose-chase" in a treasure map. It is meant to mislead. Think back over all the stories through the ages about pirate and treasure maps, from the movie Popeye to the compass that points in the wrong direction in the Pirates of the Carribean. To truly hide your treasure you want to put people down the wrong path. Consider that there are things in this book that are meant to take you down paths that end in futility intentionally. MS said there are 12 puzzles for the treasures. There are more than 12 puzzles in this book. Also, there is the idea of hiding things in plain site. You don't need any "special tools or knowledge." But that doesn't mean that you won't find puzzles in the book to work with special tools and knowledge if you decide not to listen.

There is a different way to read this story. In fact, I believe that there are several different stories within this story. You just have to "know how to read."

A HINT from me: Look to The Power of 4 and choose your own adventure.

    Best of luck everyone.

    Cantstop...

Care to elaborate a little? The Power of Four? I think I get the other reference, but maybe you could offer a little more info?

If not, I'll just keep crossing my eyes and hope to see something new

I could, but then I think I'd be giving the whole thing away. I can say that The Power of 4 is nothing directly related to a puzzle within this book, but a concept and approach that is worth consideration.

Up until last night, I've been doing all the puzzles in my head. No notes, no ciphers, nothing. I finally felt like I had to get some of the visuals in my head out on paper. In two hours I made what feels like HUGE steps on several different puzzles. The one thing that I keep coming back to is that everything is sitting right there in front of us. I haven't "crossed my eyes" yet and gotten anything of real worth. KISS (keep it simple stupid) truly seems to be the motto of this book. MS has made comments that a child tends to be more "open minded" when they look at things. Adults have a tendency to overcomplicate matters. Looking at MS's background, it is a natural thought to assume he would be very complicated in his approach, but I haven't seen that yet. What he is doing is very straight forward, doesn't require any special skills that I can see, and each puzzle is obvious at this point as to the separation between them.

I see people all over the place confusing parts of one puzzle with parts of another one. Its great to have all of this information sitting around, but the key is figuring out how to separate it and then link it. Just like I am almost 100% positive that there is more than one 5x5 puzzle.

I only had a couple of hours last night to write stuff down and "fill the boxes", but it is all starting to get clearer all the time. Sometime's I feel like I'm starting to think like him. It's like "AHA!" that was OBVIOUS.

    Did you receive your pook?

If not, that was the box kit w/pook was supposed to ship in. You can see that listed on the ATT site with the kit.

Very interesting post. I have several ideas about your"power of four" hint.
I also find it interesting that many believe 5X5 = 25 squares or compartments. Let me footnote these remarks with the fact that I do not have any jewels in my hands.

    Default Power of 4

Well, maybe this would be a good time to start listing the various "power of 4" concepts that may come into play? If it's a legit clue, then it's worth persuing. Some starters...

Numerology, spiritual, team building, and mathmatical... all that from just a couple minutes of Google searching.

Anybody wanna jump in and bat this around a bit?

I couple of thoughts along these same lines...

If you use the alphabet in correct order but put the Z in the block indicated by the faery then you have

    tuvwx
    yzabc
    defgh
    ijklm
    noprs

This puts the S in a block that is colored gray. The this matches the color of the introductory S block.

I don't know if these means anything but it would be an interesting coincedence.
