About the grammatical errors and such that I noticed before, if you read one of the emails they sent, apparently the author translated it from Afrikaans, so...that might account for those. Or as it's been pointed out, they might be intentional. I guess we'll have to figure out.

    Default about the clue

:: Some other world, some other quest - could it be the Caylix Quest, the other part of this mystery? But if it is, how does it come together. caylix quest about realising dreams, but what clues can their be in it?

The above was posted on the alex site as a comment on the clue. I don't really see any other quest that the mystery could be mirrored in.

Default see this - author gives advice

Hi there, I just signed up because I heard you guys had a discussion on the Alex Treasure Hunt. I got my book from amazon like a day ago, and is really psyched to get on cracking it.

Anyhow - have you guys seen this already - the author posted some advice on his site. It seems like you need to start by finding some structure in the illustrations. Must say, I don't really see any structure yet, never mind rigid. Any one else found anything yet?

Seems four illustrations match up with four others. Take the english, francais, afrikaans and deutsch and overlay them on the respective other four that match up with the swirving lines. You have your 4 "paths" and next to each of these names, the 4 symbols needed that represent each path. Now, it seems one must find the greatest dream where the "paths" lead.

    I think I'll go with...hmmmmm, english maybe?

    My dos centavos!

You mean you think that each path is connected to a language? But that doesn't make sense, I mean - everything else is just in English. And the symbols attached to each language are the same ones.

But I see what you say about putting the pages over each other. So maybe, if I understand you correctly, each character or path is attached to one of the second series of pictures?

And the last picture then - that is about all of them.

I really appreciate your enthusiasm regarding this project - I know how exciting it can be to put together a puzzle and how I've bounced up and down waiting for the first solvers. I haven't finished reading the story yet and I look forward to that. It looks like a lot of fun. I really hope you won't hold our hands through the whole thing. Is there a rush for it to be solved? Is it part of the marketing strategy for Caylix? I hope you will allow the "quest" to happen naturally. I know I can't speak for everyone but if you "guide" me every step of the way I will never feel the sense of accomplishment that comes with discovery.

I am with you Kkupp. As for the "language" references, those are simply words that could alin with these so called "paths" or maybe when the coded symbols reveals letters that must be interpreted in the language of the path? Whatever it may be, I was really just pointing out that, according to the rules of there being 4 ways to solve it[paths], the visual clues can clearly be lumped together using the language reference and the lines that overlay.

Other than that, the story seems to not be all that fluid and rough as far as following a clear path while reading.

On On, Hunt Happily without the hand-holding....though sometimes it is nice to hold hands with someone while actually hunting on site.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. But no, I'm not the author, I'm part of the Caylix Quest that runs together with the Alex Treasure Hunt. I'm trying to crack the thing myself... I have a guess what it is all about, had one now for about six months and are just SO ANXIOUS to hear what others say, now that it is finally being discussed on the net... but I apologize, I'm just so glad to see other people working on it as well that I am actually allowed to speak to about it that I guess I got completely carried away. Although I'm not allowed to actually enter, I still really want to see if I'm right about some of the things I found.

Anyhow, I'll keep my thoughts to myself from hereon, point well taken.

...that changes things, if you do not know the answer(s) then what you say on here is simply speculation as well. In your post you seemed to be speaking from the authority of someone that knows the correct solve(s) for this hunt. I think people would love to hear what you have to say but, bare in mind, there are bound to be directions, opinions and answers that are brought about that simply will not jive with what you have come up with already yet, some just might.

Be sure to not flame or shoot down someones thoughts without a good, valid counter. Just because... doesnt work, at least with me.

    Nice to meet you.
