If you are able to understand these instructions, the solutions for each Master's puzzles can be used to complete a Master Piece. If you are stuck on a puzzle, feel free to post a question here or use our other forum (Home | 52masterpieces) to ask for help or to share your ideas. If / when all the prizes have been claimed we will make an announcement here (even if it's before 8/20) and will welcome players to post their explanations of the solutions on either forum.

2. Dear Twelevers,

We've hit the 3-month mark, and today is our first Official Prizewinner Announcement Day. Since the start of the contest on 5/20 we've somehow managed to tally over 200,000 (!) page views. 38 different players are already confirmed prizewinners, and over 1800 correct answers have been submitted from puzzle-solvers around the world, including players from Australia, England, and Belgium.

The contest continues! Click the new trophy icon (at the bottom of the website pages at 52masterpieces.com) to see all the contest winners so far and to see which prizes are still available.

52 Master Pieces, inside the numbers (5/20/16 through 8/19/16):

206,173 = page views

118,200 = minutes the site has been viewed

1,597 = number of players

686 = officially registered players

13,631 = attempts to solve a Master Piece (by registered players)

1,809 = correct Master Piece submissions (not including the Practice Piece). Don't be discouraged by this number if you haven't yet solved your first Master Piece. We are amazed by the number of talented puzzle-solvers out there.

38 = different prizewinners, so far

25 = players who solved all 52 Master Pieces and successfully redeemed the Grandmaster Key. Be sure to click on the Hall of Fame button on the top right corner of the Winners page to see the full list.

We know that many players are eager to learn the solutions to the puzzles in this contest. We're looking forward to this too, but until all of the prizes have been claimed, we don't want to spoil the fun. That said, anything short of revealing a complete answer is fair game either here or on our forum: Home | 52masterpieces

As always, we welcome any questions, comments, or feedback you'd like to share....e-mail us at 52masterpieces@gmail.com or post on the forum.

Wishing everyone well puzzle-wise and otherwise,
David Cohen, Steve Geller, and Steven Cole

And if the list of winners on the site is current and up-to-date, there are still 6 cards which have not been claimed. Prizes are still available for these:
Master Politician
Master Police Officer
Master Entrepreneur
Master Jeweler
Master Locksmith
Yoga Master
(subject to etc etc, i can't edit this later if the list is updated)

Congrats to the winners and thanks to the donors and hello to the players still to come!

5. Hello again Twelevers,

We've updated the 52 Master Pieces website with a new feature called "How to Solve a Master Piece." The six prizes listed above (thanks catherwood!) are still available, so if you've been wondering how the contest works and hoping to win one of the prizes, click the big new button on the first page of the site (52masterpieces.com) and give it a try.

Now that the underlying contest method has been revealed, we hope that puzzle enthusiasts like you will take this opportunity to revisit the site and share this project with teachers, students, and curious minds of all ages. As always, the site is free (with no ads), with a simple goal of promoting "enthusiasm-based learning" by sharing our favorite collection of classic and original puzzles.

Enjoy,
David

Time for some updates. According to the website, the prize for Master Politician has been won.
The other two are still waiting to be claimed.

Also, if you always wanted a detailed explanation for how to solve one of these levels, the official answers are being released, one Master per week, over at their forum. Three have been revealed so far...

Hi catherwood and all

I've only just come across this puzzle, is it too late to find anything that hasn't been found already? I wish I'd seen it earlier!

Regards

Welcome! The website is still fully functional, and the puzzles are timeless classics. The meta is a joy to solve, depending on your love of collecting and organizing data. While the top prizes have already been awarded, you're still in the running to submit solutions and claim victory on those last two cards. (The link above should be the current list of winners, letting you see which slots are still open.)

I bought the book for sentimental reasons, but the contest and experience is meant to be played online. Dive in!
