Default We are right... Crystal Pook 13th jewel!!!

I don't see this posted yet. Stadther has revealed to the press that the clue does mean "Crystal Pook is Thirteen" and that there are 13 tokens out there.

    Wow..

    1) that really cool and

    2) why put that someplace so obscure? I hope he at least puts this on his website and
    3) why bother publishing the clue now in People mag.?

But anyway YEAH a confirmation. It's too bad about the start cipher key in tools though

Did you see he's also thinking a SEQUEL??

Ok... One thing I noticed was this quote by MS:

"I wanted to make a treasure hunt, and I wanted it to be about 12 pieces of beautiful jewelry," he said. "In thinking about this, it turns out a lot of beautiful jewelry is ladies' brooches. And a lot of ladies' brooches are dragonflies and such. I thought, 'I'd better write a story about ladybugs and dragonflies.' "

Confirms to me that the ORDER of the Dragonfly and Ladybug and troops listed in the story are important. I have posted some of this on other places before.

I also notice that he states ladies brooches twice, as in meaning lady bug first.

I will keep looking at order......... any helpers welcome!!

Also of importance is this statement by MS:

Stadther, who says he's always been fascinated by the idea of treasure, has hidden 18-karat-gold tokens across the lower 48 states. The book holds clues that, when deciphered, tell the tokens' locations. Each one can be redeemed for a different piece of jewelry.

Notice lower 48 states............ Does that mean states below 40degrees N latitude?
    Handy site: http://www.graphicmaps.com/aatlas/imageg.htm

AND.... notice it says The book... meaning maybe entire book, not just story???

Just some thoughts. I'm trying to read the TEXT of everything closely!!!

"Lower 48" is just a common phrase referring to all the states except Alaska and Canada. (I live in Michigan, which is above 40degrees lat, but I'm still in the Lower 48.)

    Happy hunting...

    A worldwide hunt

    (FAINTS)

Over 1,000 miles travelled in search of 1 token.

Tokens found: zero. (no, I don't expect I'll have to edit this)

    Currently working on: Firefly, beetle.

    Hi all-

    Just came across another article:

    http://kvoa.com/Global/story.asp?S=2925693

A couple of MS comments I thought were interesting:

"I've hidden clues within the pages of the story," Stadther says.

"I would suspect kids have an edge over adults because they see things with an open mind."

Notice that he said the "pages of the story" rather than the pages of the book.

Then there's the open mind comment - defined by Dictionary.com:

open mind - A mind receptive to different opinions and ideas.

My mind is open - in fact it is so far open since starting this book that I think my brain has fallen out!

Since when was Canada a state? Perhaps you mean Hawaii?

Woops! That shows what this book can do to your brain..... Yes, of course, I meant Alaska and Hawaii.
