    Hi everyone

I'm new to this forum but I heard a lot about tweleve so i thought I would check it out.

I bought the Oracle and I think it's a great book. The poetry is really clever and the pictures are very surreal. My son really enjoyed the story as well.

I have been trying to solve the puzzle but so far I didn't get very far. I noticed the obvious mistakes (I also noticed the incorrect pythagoras triangle) and I am sure this is some kind of clue.

So come on if you have read it, give me some feedback.

adang65 - Welcome! I am pretty new myself.

I do not own the book (and doubt I will any time soon since there is so much else). I am currently working on The Secret, and have ordered Maranatha. I also own Unicornis and The Whistle Pig, but have not seriously looked at them yet. Make sure to pre-order Treasures Trove 2!

    Hi,

I am almost exclusively working the Maranatha puzzle, but just checked out this forum, since the title was interesting, and there weren't too many posts.

"Also in the picture is a right triangle with
sides 1, 2, and SQRT(3). What these errors represent is anyone's guess. "

It may not mean anything, but there is a number, represented by "i", which is the square root of -1.

If the side labeled "1" is taken as imaginary, then the resulting hypotenuse would be SQRT (3).

We adhere strictly to copyright laws, so we will not allow scans posted unless special permission from the author (which doesn't happen very often.) I can ask Pete if scans are acceptable if you really feel the urge, what did you have in mind to show?

I really doubt that scenario. Since the picture and storyline are of ancient Greece, it is an obvious reference to Pythagoras. The Pythagorean theorem deals with areas, and therefore is only valid on real numbers (area is undefined on the complex plane). One can of course have complex numbers that satisfy an equation of the form a^2 + b^2 = c^2, but then the numbers {a,b,c} are known as Gaussian triples instead of Pythagorean triples, and the link to ancient Greece is lost.

    Molnar

    You're a cool dude.

Maybe there will be some more discussion on this hunt now that the publishers are offering a promotion for tweleve subscribers?
