    clearo,

I have the book. I reviewed the book a long time ago, but the post was lost when the site was hacked. There wasn't much interest after that so I never reposted. If I get some time I'll dust off my copy and post a few remarks.

No I have not bought the book

I spend alot of time trying to find new hunts for 12 and this was one of these postings.

12 is the number one web page in Armchair Treasure Hunting and if they get behind a book or treasure hunt like Scroll Quest the results are amazing

    Hi Molnar

Did you get a chance to dig out your copy yet?

I'm curious to hear from someone who has read it.

The Oracle Lost in Time tells the story of two young brothers, who accidentally
get sent off on a journey one afternoon while fooling around with their father's
new invention, a time/space machine. While trying to figure out how to operate
this craft, the boys go on a roller coaster ride through time and space, from the
Apollo moon landing, to ancient Egypt and Greece, to early 20th-century Russia,
to the Roman Empire, to that guy being crucified, to London during the plague,
to Columbus landing in the Americas, and finally visiting the Oracle (who looks
    remarkably like Einstein).

Interspersed throughout this storyline are pages that have a poem and opposite
is a picture framed by a wooden frame. Around these frames are text, in a
tribute to Masquerade; although there are no special delineations such as colored
or notched letters as in Williams' work. There are 11 such pictures in this 45
page book. In each picture, there is supposed to be a "lie." I have found multiple
"errors" in some pictures, none in others. As an example, in the picture about
ancient Greece, there is an Olympic flag shown. This flag wasn't developed until
1913 and wasn't used until 1920. Also in the picture is a right triangle with
sides 1, 2, and SQRT(3). What these errors represent is anyone's guess.

The story throws in a little science (most of which is even correct ), a little
history and a small dose of political and religious rhetoric (but I survived).
IMO, a better storyline than that other hunt with the faeries. I haven't spent
any time working on this in the past nine months, but if someone is interested, I
could be talked into chatting about it some.
