I am assuming that the post person is a woman. Not sure why though. But anyway she/he asked the question and then posted Mr. Stadther's remark. Since it was posted at ATT site, I'm more likely to trust that he/she is being honest. Plus, if memory serves, she/he posted other things and wasn't just popping in to stir things up, if you know what I mean. So I think it is safe to say that all seemingly made errors are NOT errors afterall. Of course, Mr. Stadther was commenting specifically to the return line-up missing Ant and Butterfly.

    Default All lined up

The line up has me so intrigued. It would seem that snail would be heavier than caterpillar, but MS has beetle and firefly both carrying caterpillar leaving bee alone to deal with the load of snail. I think their placement above, below, front to back is a letter placement or number placement clue of some sort. I tried putting their written names in different sorts of configurations but came up with nuthin. Also thought maybe it was their placement across the US. Anyone else pondering this?

another note about the line-up is that on p.98 none of the insects is capitallized and they are described as 'a firefly, a beetle' etc. instead of Beetle, the Spider etc. I realize that these are the crystallized insects returning but its another thing that doesn't match up.

It could be a way to fill the 5x5 grid. couldn't it?

Yes it sure could be a way to fill that grid. Page 25 has the forest creatures in an interesting pattern too. "Spider organized them with great precision" Snail atop grasshopper, beetle and ant at the flanks and caterpillar in the rear. Dragonfly "hovering" and behind him bee, butterfly ladybug, firefly and hummingbird. I can see a pattern here too. But of what?
