    lyric,

Thanks for the feedback in your inimitable (thank god) style.

Let me phrase myself differently. The mark of a good puzzle is one that is a head-slapper when you find the answer. They can still be difficult to find. If your 'sub-poem' and renart's 'cover poem' are genuinely part of the route to the jewels, then this is very disappointing because neither of them yields any satisfaction at solving them. In your case there is unhinted-level-of-obscurity upon unhinted-level-of-obscurity. In renart's case there are '20 hours' of cutting, pasting, squinting and image manipulating. Whoopee.

    Guys,
Yes, I derived this exactly as described in the od section. In an 8x10.5 blowup under a magnifying light, if you've stared at it as long as I did, you can start to see the letter shapes. The only manipulation I did was to do the overlapping, just as in the puzzle 1 on the ATT board. The overlap is only about 1/4 inch, though.
No, I don't think I can post this on the web because I don't want to worry about copyright infringement. However, if a couple of you will pm me (maybe cabunk and RS) with your email addresses, I will email it to you. I only have dialup (ugh) so it takes a while to send it, even compressed. You can then verify it for the forum. I know you are gonna *itch and moan, but I can't email 5000+ people. You remember the problem with posting the sterographs. I don't want MJS siccing his legal eagles on me.
I'd like your thoughts on dissecting what the lines mean.
    Thanks, guys

Thanks Renart for posting. I was interested in the first line, with all the plurals. It seems to imply that multiple codes will be cracked through multiple systems - and I'm guessing from the placement on the Nomenclature cover that 'in here' means inside the book on the following pages. Proof positive that we need to dig deeper on the next pages as Lyric has done. While I don't think we necessarily get any major insight with this verse, I do think that it would lead us to the next piece of the puzzle had Lyric not already shown us one attempt at solving the text of the book.

    Great job, Chris.

    Spiderman
    Thanks!
My own interpretation is that everythig "in " the book on the next page has something to do with the codes, not just the text. So I'm looking at the faeries, acorns, faery fingers, the dang dandelion, the tree trunks and leaves, and the crumbs that could be mushroom pips. I really wanted to find thistles.
    Anyone see anything else?

What I find interesting is that this poem also seems to treat the treasures as a whole. As in 'Treasure Hides' not 'Treasures Hide' hmmmm? Seems like they are all in the same type of place (knotholes? statues? under benches? planters? etc...). But again, then this seems like a puzzle that will just lead us to a generic location. Not an EXACT location as MS says. Sort of discouraging when it took so much to find. I know, I know... it won't be easy... don't bite my head off.

If anyone would like to take a minute to PM or e-mail me the image, I'd love to see it. pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeassssssee? pretty please with sugar on top?

Calgon, take me away! To the jewels preferably!

I too would love to see a copy of the image. I doubt it exists.

I will be experimenting with overlays this weekend, so I will try to verify.

I have seen the image, and it is interesting. I haven't had a chance to really examine it yet. I'll post comments soon.

In the story the faeries know where they hid the jewels.

WITH NAME IN HAND THE FA(E)RIES KNOW
AND THEY WILL SHOW YOU WHERE TO GO

What name is in hand? Location?

So, the faeries point to what I need???

**Look inside (ye Nom.) for to heed...
    Heed:
    1. Attention; notice; observation; regard;
    2. Careful consideration; obedient regard.
    3. A look or expression of heading.

What is the faeries secret? THE SECRET IS NOT HALF BUT IT IS NOT WHOLE

And this shows us where the tokens are?
